Castrol launches eHailing Heroes programme to support 3,000 e‑Hailing drivers in the Klang Valley

Castrol Malaysia has launched the eHailing Heroes programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and the Public Transport Users Association of Malaysia (4PAM).

The 12‑month initiative aims to reduce maintenance costs faced by e‑hailing drivers, ensuring smoother journeys throughout Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026).

The launch event was held at Rom 8 Studio and officiated by Mohd Akbal Setia, Senior Director of Advertising and Digital Tourism Malaysia, who also serves as the VM2026 Secretariat Chief.

Phase One: Up to 3,000 E‑Hailing Vehicles

In its first phase, eHailing Heroes will support up to 3,000 e‑hailing vehicles across the Klang Valley.

Each participant will receive:

  • Subsidised Castrol Magnatec service
  • Vehicle branding
  • Access to Castrol Auto Service workshops nationwide

Drivers who complete 8,000 km of verified travel will receive an RM80 e‑voucher for a Castrol Magnatec service package, redeemable at selected Castrol Auto Service workshops.

E‑hailing drivers can register at: https://www.castrolezrewards.com/ehailinghero/home

Why Castrol Magnatec?

E‑hailing vehicles operate daily under extreme conditions—heavy traffic, high mileage, and frequent stop‑start driving.

Castrol Magnatec’s intelligent molecules cling to critical engine components, forming a protective layer that delivers 50% better wear protection during engine warm‑up and restart phases.

This aligns with Castrol Magnatec’s core promise: Non‑Stop Protection From Every Start.

Additional Discounts

Beyond the e‑hailing promotion, Castrol is also offering a 10% discount starting August for its passenger car engine oil range.

This initiative aims to help more vehicle owners maintain their cars in optimal condition.

Touch ‘n Go conducts Titan Flow field test, promises smoother toll experience

Touch ‘n Go recently conducted a field test of its Titan Flow technology with members of the media at the Ampang–Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH).

The test was carried out at the Enhanced RFID Lane, marked with a gold star symbol at the Dato Keramat Toll Plaza.

The demonstration aimed to showcase how a combination of locally developed technologies can deliver a smoother, safer and more reliable toll experience.

Integration of Multiple Technologies

Titan Flow integrates radio‑frequency identification (RFID) as its primary detection system supported by several other technologies:

  • Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Machine Learning (ML)
  • LiDAR

This layered design enables the system to achieve detection accuracy rates of up to 99.8%.

Despite advancements in supporting technologies, RFID remains the core of Titan Flow due to its stability and resilience against environmental factors such as lighting and weather.

Beyond improving user convenience, the system is engineered to enhance traffic flow at toll plazas. The combination of smart technologies allows each transaction to be processed more accurately without disrupting intuitive driving behaviour.

A Step Towards MLFF Implementation

As an early step towards the Multi‑Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system, the Enhanced RFID Lane now utilises Titan Flow’s core technologies.

Titan Flow is built on a proven ecosystem comprising over 4.7 million registered RFID users, 27 million TNG eWallet users, and billions of transactions processed annually.

With this strong foundation, Touch ‘n Go aims to accelerate the development of smart mobility infrastructure and introduce next‑generation tolling solutions that are faster and more seamless.

SOS Balance Further Improves Traffic Flow

To ensure uninterrupted mobility, the SOS Balance feature in the TNG eWallet app allows users to continue their journey even when their balance is insufficient.

This feature has supported around 36 million trips, reducing the risk of vehicles being stranded and helping to smoothen overall traffic flow.

Technology Developed by Malaysians

Touch ‘n Go CEO Praba Sangarajoo emphasised that Titan Flow was developed by Malaysians to meet the needs of local users.

“What makes Titan Flow truly meaningful is that it stems from nearly three decades of understanding how Malaysians move.

“Our focus is on delivering a seamless, reliable and secure experience while maintaining the accuracy and accountability required by highway operators.”

Collaboration with GWM Malaysia

The field test was supported by GWM Malaysia, which provided vehicles for media use throughout the drive‑through session.

Cui Anqui, Managing Director of Corporate Affairs at GWM Malaysia, said:

“At GWM, we see the future of mobility as something that goes beyond the vehicle itself—it encompasses the entire user experience.

“Our collaboration with Touch ‘n Go in the Titan Flow field test reflects our shared commitment to making everyday mobility for Malaysians smarter, more connected and smoother.”

Dunlop to focus on replacement tyre and OEM markets in Malaysia

Dunlop is strengthening its long-term presence in Malaysia with a rapidly expanding dealer network, a broader range of tyre solutions and continued investment in products designed to meet the changing needs of Malaysian motorists.

In just a few months, Dunlop has expanded its nationwide dealer network by more than 30%, growing from approximately 150 to over 200 outlets since May 2026. The expansion reflects growing confidence among dealers and automotive service partners as the brand strengthens its nationwide reach.

This latest milestone builds on Dunlop’s long-standing presence in Malaysia. In 1963, Dunlop became the first tyre manufacturer to establish local production in the country, helping lay the foundation for one of Malaysia’s most recognised brands.

Today, under the stewardship of Toyotsu Binter Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and backed by the engineering expertise of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Dunlop is focused on making premium tyre technology more accessible while strengthening its position in an increasingly competitive market.

Malaysia’s replacement tyre market continues to evolve as demand grows for products that deliver safety, performance and value across passenger cars, SUVs and electric vehicles.

Marcus Lim, Managing Director of Toyotsu Binter Malaysia Sdn Bhd said, “Malaysia is an important market for Dunlop and we see tremendous opportunities for long-term growth.

“Motorists are looking for products that deliver quality, safety and performance, but they also expect genuine value. That is where we see Dunlop’s opportunity. Our ambition is to establish Dunlop as an emerging premium brand by making premium performance accessible to more Malaysian motorists,” he said.

Marcus said the company’s growth strategy extends beyond increasing its retail footprint.

“We want Dunlop to be available wherever customers choose to purchase and service their tyres, whether through established tyre dealers, automotive service centres or future retail channels that enhance convenience and accessibility. At the heart of our strategy is building strong, long-term partnerships across Malaysia’s automotive aftermarket,” he added.

To support that strategy, Dunlop continues to broaden its product portfolio across key market segments. The range includes the Blue Response TG for everyday passenger vehicles, the SP Sport Maxx 060+ for drivers seeking enhanced performance and handling, and the Grandtrek R/T01 for SUVs and pickup trucks. The company is also preparing to introduce the e.Sport Maxx, developed to meet the unique performance requirements of electric vehicles.

Beyond the replacement market, Dunlop remains committed to supporting its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, supplying tyres for selected models from leading automotive brands, including Toyota, Lexus, Isuzu, Mazda and Leapmotor. These partnerships reflect the confidence vehicle manufacturers place in Dunlop’s engineering, quality and reliability.

Recognising the critical requirements of OEM programmes, Toyotsu Binter Malaysia and Sumitomo Rubber Industries are committed to maintaining the highest standards of product quality, supply chain reliability and responsive customer support. By working closely with Dunlop’s OEM partners, the companies aim to ensure continuity of supply while strengthening the long-standing relationships that have been built with vehicle manufacturers over the years.

As vehicle technologies continue to evolve, Dunlop also remains committed to supporting motorists, whether they use the internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid, or electric vehicles, with tyres engineered to deliver safety, comfort, durability, and driving confidence.

Takehiko Asai, Managing Director of Sumitomo Rubber Asia (Tyre) Pte. Ltd. said Dunlop’s future continues to be guided by the same spirit of innovation that has shaped the brand for more than 130 years.

“Innovation has always been at the heart of Dunlop. Throughout our history, we have continuously evolved alongside advances in mobility, developing technologies that improve safety, performance and driving confidence for motorists around the world.

“Today, our focus extends beyond conventional tyre development. We are investing in next-generation technologies that enhance energy efficiency, improve wet-weather grip, reduce rolling resistance and cabin noise, while exploring intelligent tyre technologies that will support the future of connected and electrified mobility. These innovations reflect our commitment to delivering products that meet the changing needs of drivers without compromising the quality and reliability that define the Dunlop brand,” he said.

With Malaysia identified as a key growth market, Dunlop will continue investing in its dealer network, introducing products developed for local driving conditions, and strengthening partnerships across the automotive aftermarket as it builds long-term growth in the country.

Malaysia was chosen due to its standing as a key Lotus market in the region, alongside being an ideal platform to showcase Lotus’s motorsport heritage, engineering philosophy and performance DNA.

The PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit is renowned as one of the most challenging tracks in Asia. It combines high-speed straights with fast and slow corners that demand precise acceleration, braking, aerodynamics and chassis balance.

Last year, the Lotus Emira, driven by Malaysian motorsport icon Tengku Djan Ley, recorded a time of 2:27.932.

Lotus Emeya Specifications

The Lotus Emeya R is powered by dual electric motors producing a combined output of 905 PS and 985 Nm.

Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 2.8 seconds, while a top speed of 248.8 km/h was clocked at Sepang.

Iveco & PETRONAS Lubricants International extend strategic partnership until 2032

Iveco, one of Europe’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, and PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) have officially renewed their long-standing strategic partnership for an additional five years. The agreement extends the partnership through 2032, reinforcing a collaboration that has driven innovation, performance, and sustainability in the commercial transport sector for more than 50 years.

The renewal ensures the continued supply and joint engineering of a comprehensive range of lubricants designed for commercial vehicles. From advanced engine oils to transmission fluids, brake fluids and coolants, PLI and Iveco will continue to formulate solutions specifically engineered to meet the demanding operational requirements of Iveco’s commercial vehicle portfolio across Europe.

A Legacy of Technical Excellence

This milestone reflects the sustained success of the co-branded Iveco Urania engine oils and Iveco Tutela technical fluids, developed through decades of joint R&D and a shared commitment to delivering high-performance, energy-efficient solutions that maximise vehicle uptime and extend component life. The ranges are also the only fluids recommended by Iveco.

The partnership’s rapid pace of innovation was recently highlighted by the launch of Urania Next 0W-16. This breakthrough – the first SAE 0W-16 engine oil developed specifically for heavy-duty applications – delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, reduced CO₂ emissions, and extended oil drain intervals. Furthermore, the formulation is Euro 7 ready, supporting improved efficiency and emissions performance for Iveco’s latest generation of engines.

Domenico Nucera, Chief Quality & Operations Officer, Iveco Group, commented, “The renewal of the agreement with PETRONAS Lubricants International confirms the strength of a long-standing collaboration built on shared technical expertise and a common ambition to continuously improve performance, efficiency, and sustainability across our vehicle and powertrain portfolio. Through the co-engineering of our Iveco Urania and Iveco Tutela ranges, we are able to deliver solutions that maximise vehicle uptime, optimise total cost of ownership, and support our customers and dealer network with the highest standards of quality and reliability.”

Driving Dealer and Customer Value

The renewed agreement also places a strategic focus on the Iveco dealer network. Beyond providing cutting-edge products, PLI will implement targeted initiatives aimed at strengthening dealer engagement and reinforcing customer awareness of Iveco’s officially approved lubricants. These initiatives are expected to support dealer business growth across European markets, while helping customers benefit from enhanced vehicle reliability and optimised total cost-of-ownership.

Domenico Ciaglia, Group Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer of PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), said: “This partnership renewal demonstrates what can be achieved through a long-term forward-thinking collaboration, with consistency, and a shared commitment to excellence.  Through continuous product innovation, we have been able to co-develop market-leading solutions such as the Urania Next 0W-16 engine oil formulation, seamlessly integrated into Iveco’s ecosystem. This collaboration enables us to deliver greater value to the industry by combining our expertise and driving innovation together.

Looking ahead, PETRONAS Lubricants International remains fully committed to supporting the Iveco Group with forward integrated reliable, high-performance products and solutions that create lasting value for its network and customers.

This renewed collaboration further reinforces the foundation of PLI’s broader strategic roadmap, demonstrating how technical excellence and trusted partnerships can drive sustainable, long-term value internationally.”
