Iveco & PETRONAS Lubricants International extend strategic partnership until 2032

Iveco, one of Europe’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, and PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) have officially renewed their long-standing strategic partnership for an additional five years. The agreement extends the partnership through 2032, reinforcing a collaboration that has driven innovation, performance, and sustainability in the commercial transport sector for more than 50 years.

The renewal ensures the continued supply and joint engineering of a comprehensive range of lubricants designed for commercial vehicles. From advanced engine oils to transmission fluids, brake fluids and coolants, PLI and Iveco will continue to formulate solutions specifically engineered to meet the demanding operational requirements of Iveco’s commercial vehicle portfolio across Europe.

A Legacy of Technical Excellence

This milestone reflects the sustained success of the co-branded Iveco Urania engine oils and Iveco Tutela technical fluids, developed through decades of joint R&D and a shared commitment to delivering high-performance, energy-efficient solutions that maximise vehicle uptime and extend component life. The ranges are also the only fluids recommended by Iveco.

The partnership’s rapid pace of innovation was recently highlighted by the launch of Urania Next 0W-16. This breakthrough – the first SAE 0W-16 engine oil developed specifically for heavy-duty applications – delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, reduced CO₂ emissions, and extended oil drain intervals. Furthermore, the formulation is Euro 7 ready, supporting improved efficiency and emissions performance for Iveco’s latest generation of engines.

Domenico Nucera, Chief Quality & Operations Officer, Iveco Group, commented, “The renewal of the agreement with PETRONAS Lubricants International confirms the strength of a long-standing collaboration built on shared technical expertise and a common ambition to continuously improve performance, efficiency, and sustainability across our vehicle and powertrain portfolio. Through the co-engineering of our Iveco Urania and Iveco Tutela ranges, we are able to deliver solutions that maximise vehicle uptime, optimise total cost of ownership, and support our customers and dealer network with the highest standards of quality and reliability.”

Driving Dealer and Customer Value

The renewed agreement also places a strategic focus on the Iveco dealer network. Beyond providing cutting-edge products, PLI will implement targeted initiatives aimed at strengthening dealer engagement and reinforcing customer awareness of Iveco’s officially approved lubricants. These initiatives are expected to support dealer business growth across European markets, while helping customers benefit from enhanced vehicle reliability and optimised total cost-of-ownership.

Domenico Ciaglia, Group Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer of PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), said: “This partnership renewal demonstrates what can be achieved through a long-term forward-thinking collaboration, with consistency, and a shared commitment to excellence.  Through continuous product innovation, we have been able to co-develop market-leading solutions such as the Urania Next 0W-16 engine oil formulation, seamlessly integrated into Iveco’s ecosystem. This collaboration enables us to deliver greater value to the industry by combining our expertise and driving innovation together.

Looking ahead, PETRONAS Lubricants International remains fully committed to supporting the Iveco Group with forward integrated reliable, high-performance products and solutions that create lasting value for its network and customers.

This renewed collaboration further reinforces the foundation of PLI’s broader strategic roadmap, demonstrating how technical excellence and trusted partnerships can drive sustainable, long-term value internationally.”

Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale restores the ‘manual’ driving experience, limited to 1,499 units

Here is Ferrari’s answer to fans craving a manual-transmission supercar: the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale.

It sounds like Ferrari is trying to revive nostalgia since production of the last manual model (599 GTB) ended in 2012.

Core recipe remains the same

With the 12Cilindri Manuale, Ferrari keeps the basic formula of a Prancing Horse machine: a naturally aspirated V12 heart, a twin-clutch (DCT) gearbox, and rear-wheel drive (RWD).

The engine can still produce up to 819 hp and 678 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds.

However, the way the driver controls this machine is slightly different.

Unlike the existing 12Cilindri models, the 12Cilindri Manuale is equipped with hardware favored by true manual enthusiasts:

  • gated shifter on the center console
  • classic round aluminum knob
  • three-pedal setup

The cabin layout has also been revised (including the center tunnel and ergonomic aspects) to make driving more exciting.

Manuale-by-Wire

The gear-shifting system in the 12Cilindri is called Manuale-by-Wire, and it does not have a direct mechanical link between the gear knob, clutch pedal, and the transmission.

Through this system, input from the clutch pedal and gear-knob position is transmitted electronically to the transmission control unit to change gears.

Imagine a sim rig used for virtual racing, but this time it’s more realistic.

The gear-shifting mechanism and the clutch pedal are designed to mimic the resistance experienced by a driver with a real manual system.

Just like a conventional manual car:

  • if the clutch is released too early, the engine may jerk or cut out
  • if the driver successfully executes precise gear changes, the drive will be smoother

It also includes a safety mechanism that prevents the driver from making disallowed gear changes (in other words: money shifts).

The manual driving mode (gears 1-6) can be used at speeds below 100 km/h, provided the clutch is pressed each time a gear is changed.

If the driver has had enough of manual driving, they can switch to automatic mode at any time.

To make the experience more authentic, the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale does not include paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.

The Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale will be produced in a limited run of 1,499 units as a nod to Ferrari’s first 12-cylinder engine displacement produced in 1947.

Each 12Cilindri Manuale will be offered through the Tailor Made program.

This means each “manual” vehicle will have different fittings and specifications from one another.

In Europe, the 12Cilindri Manuale is priced from €590,000 (about RM2.7 million).

Toyota SYI Outrun 2026 draws more than 7,500 participants, raises RM200k for NCSM

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) successfully concluded Toyota Start Your Impossible (SYI) Outrun 2026, as the event returned for its fifth edition at Dataran Wawasan, Putrajaya, welcoming over 7,500 participants and raising RM200,000 in support of the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM).

Held on Sunday, 5 July 2026, the annual charity run strengthened its place as a community favourite that brings Malaysians together through fitness, personal challenge and support for a long-standing cause.

The event featured the 5KM Fun Run, 10KM Competitive Run and 21KM Half Marathon, welcoming families, first-time runners, returning participants and competitive runners from the early morning flag-off through to the finish line. The 2026 edition saw strong take-up across its competitive distances, with 2,200 runners participating in the 10KM Competitive Run and 1,800 runners taking on the 21KM Half Marathon.

“What makes this fifth edition significant is the consistency of support behind it. Toyota SYI Outrun has become a mid-year run that Malaysians return to because it is accessible, positive and connected to a cause that continues to matter. For UMWT, this reflects the value of building community initiatives over time, where every edition strengthens participation, awareness and practical support for organisations such as NCSM. We are grateful to the runners, partners, supporters and volunteers who helped make this year’s event another meaningful milestone,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.

Toyota SYI Outrun has supported causes linked to wellness and inclusivity since it was first introduced in 2019, beginning with the Paralympic Council of Malaysia and continuing in recent editions with NCSM.

Set against Putrajaya’s recognisable landmarks, Toyota SYI Outrun 2026 offered runners a scenic route and a lively event village atmosphere, bringing together participants, supporters, volunteers and partners throughout the morning.

The competitive races added to the overall energy of the event, with a total prize pool worth RM138,000 awarded to the top 10 finishers across the competitive races.

The event also marked Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi’s first appearance at a UMWT event following his official debut into the Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) programme, Toyota’s global platform for athletes who embody the spirit of challenging limits and inspiring positive change beyond competition. A Johor-born para sprinter and Asian Para Games gold medallist, Ammar’s presence at the Outrun brought the Start Your Impossible message to life, reflecting Toyota’s belief in Mobility for All and the importance of creating more inclusive opportunities in sport and society.

Part of Toyota’s global Start Your Impossible initiative, Toyota SYI Outrun reflects UMWT’s commitment to building community platforms that encourage Malaysians to participate, stay active and support causes that matter. As the event marks its fifth edition, UMWT looks forward to strengthening the Outrun as a platform that continues to bring Malaysians together in support of NCSM and the wider community.

This year’s jury was particularly impressed by the high level of innovation and the thoughtful design approach demonstrated by the iCAUR V23. At the heart of this recognition lies V23’s reinterpretation of classic DNA through the lens of new energy technology and aesthetics.

From a design language perspective, the V23 is built around its signature boxy silhouette. With a four‑wheel‑at‑the‑corners layout, a width of 1.9 meters, a height of 1.84 meters, a nearly 1:1 width‑to‑height ratio, a long wheelbase of 2,735 mm, and 21‑inch oversized wheels, the vehicle presents a commanding presence that belies its class.

In detail, round headlights preserve the classic identity of hardcore off‑roaders, while a transparent radar cover and pixel‑style high‑mounted stop lights inject a distinctly tech‑forward feel. The modular “backpack” at the rear retains functionality while adding a playful, technology‑inspired touch unique to the new energy era.

What sets the V23 apart is that it does not confine itself to the traditional “hardcore off‑roader” framework. Instead, it creates a “third space” that allows users to express their personality while seamlessly integrating into the lifestyle of the younger generation. With over 20 reserved modification interfaces, the V23 offers virtually limitless possibilities for personalization, enabling every owner to make the vehicle a true reflection of their individuality.

As football festivities unfold, iCAUR has launched its “iCAUR Turun Padang” football activation campaign from 18th Jun – 19th July. Customers can take a closer look at the award-winning V23 at the iCAUR showroom and take it for a test-drive, as well as stand a chance to win exciting prizes.

Proton S70 selected as new national taxi under Teksi Madani programme

Malaysian Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently launched the National Teksi Madani Renewal Programme at Dataran Merdeka.

The launch marked the beginning of a national initiative to renew and strengthen the nation’s taxi industry. It follows the earlier announcement of a 100% excise duty and sales tax exemption for taxi and private hire car owners purchasing new locally manufactured vehicles. The initiative aims to reduce the cost burden of new vehicle ownership and accelerate the nationwide renewal of the taxi fleet.

Additionally, the programme offers taxi drivers the opportunity to transition to vehicles that are more modern, safer, more comfortable, and of higher quality. At the same time, an additional allocation of RM10 million was announced for a matching grant programme to replace old vehicles with new ones.

Proton S70: The New Face of National Taxis

The Proton S70 was selected for its features that meet the operational requirements of public mobility, including a spacious cabin, a fuel-efficient engine, and smart connectivity technology. Furthermore, owners need not worry as there is an extensive network of Proton service centres across the nation.

Under the programme, eligible operators will be offered the Proton S70 Premium in an exclusive Ruby Red colour, replacing the traditional two-tone red-and-white livery. The sedan will also be fitted with the necessary additional hardware, including:

  • an LED panel displaying green Teksi/E-Hailing lettering
  • an additional meter display for transactions and advertisements
  • a special GET registration number (red lettering on a white background)
  • a unique decal on the C-pillars

Furthermore, the new S70 taxis will no longer feature the conventional roof-mounted taxi topper or operator labels on the doors.

Boon Siew Honda establishes Kota Damansara Sales HQ

Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd. announces the opening of its new Sales Headquarters in Kota Damansara. A purpose-built, three-storey facility spanning 7,000 square feet that marks the first time BSH has established a dedicated commercial base in the nation’s capital.

A quick glance of the new Sales HQ:

  • 7,000 square feet total floor space across three storeys.
  • 3 functions under one roof: Sales, Marketing, and After-sales Parts & Services.
  • 1st BSH dedicated commercial headquarters in central, Malaysia.

The Sales HQ houses BSH’s Sales Planning team, covering both the big bike and commuter segments alongside its Marketing, and the After-sales Parts & Services division. It also offers 2 dedicated training rooms and a full-fledge technical centre exclusively to train and dealers in both technical and non-technical skills.

Centralizing all three functions under a single address is a structural first for BSH, and one that directly addresses the coordination challenges that arise when sales, communications, and aftersales leadership operate from different locations.

At 7,000 square feet across three floors, the Sales HQ is a purpose-fitted space designed to support BSH’s operational requirements as both its product portfolio and dealer network continue to expand.

The facility provides dedicated workspace, meeting rooms, and collaboration space for the teams whose daily work spans from campaign planning and media engagement to dealer development and after-sales support which drives the company’s market presence. It is, in the most direct sense, the physical home of how BSH takes its products to market.

“Seven thousand square feet and three floors may sound like a property announcement. But what this building represents is in fact a decision to put our Sales, Marketing, and After-sales leadership in one place, working from one address, with one shared view of the market. For a company headquartered in Penang, opening a dedicated commercial base in KL is a statement of how seriously we take the work that happens here.” — Kunitomo Asano, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, BSH.

ONE ADDRESS. THREE TEAMS. FASTER DECISIONS.

The practical impact of the Sales HQ is most visible in how BSH’s three functions now relate to one another.

With all three teams now operating from the same building, decisions that matters to the market will now happen in the same space more seamlessly. For a company managing a growing portfolio of product line up, dealer programmes, marketing communications and customer service, that structural change provides real operational value.

The Kota Damansara address also positions BSH’s leadership teams in immediate proximity to its business and industry partners ecosystem that is concentrated in and around Kuala Lumpur.

“The three teams inside this building talk to each other every day. Now they can do it in the same corridor rather than across a phone call. That is not a small thing when the pace of what we do demands that kind of speed.” — Kunitomo Asano, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, BSH.

About the Kota Damansara Sales Headquarters

The BSH Kota Damansara Sales HQ is also a dedicated warranty parts support point for the authorised dealer network. Operational details will be communicated to dealers directly. BSH’s primary headquarters remains in Pulau Pinang.

Gentari Go introduces AutoCharge feature to all users

Clean energy solutions company Gentari today announced a major update to its Gentari Go mobile app, bringing the AutoCharge feature to all Gentari Go users alongside a refreshed rewards structure and enhanced security features.

AutoCharge is now available at selected Gentari Direct Current (DC) fast chargers nationwide. After a one-time setup, this feature enables compatible EVs to automatically authenticate by linking the user’s account with their registered vehicle, allowing charging to begin with no app required.

This removes the need for repeated app activation, RFID cards, or QR code scanning, making public charging more accessible across supported vehicle brands and charging locations nationwide.

AutoCharge functions in three simple steps:
1. Plug-in: User connects the DC cable to their EV.
2. Auto-authenticate: Vehicle is automatically verified.
3. Charge: Session begins instantly. No app is needed.

Fadzrul Ahmad, Gentari’s Chief Green Mobility Officer said, “Malaysia’s EV ecosystem is entering a phase where everyday user experience matters as much as infrastructure expansion. AutoCharge removes the need for multiple apps and manual steps, making public charging simpler, faster and more intuitive for EV drivers. The result is exactly what it should be: Plug-in, Charge and Go.”

To mark the launch, the first 500 users who successfully enrol and complete their first AutoCharge session will receive RM10 in Gentari Go credits.

AutoCharge will be rolled out progressively across Gentari’s nationwide network, particularly along key travel corridors and urban locations.

Gentari currently operates more than 600 EV charging points across Malaysia, while the Gentari Go Roaming Hub provides users with access to more than 18,000 charging points across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and India, enabling seamless charging wherever drivers travel.

Details on eligible charging locations, compatible EV models and setup guidance are available on the Gentari Go app and Gentari website.

No additional fees apply; standard charging rates and existing Gentari Go plans or promotions remain unchanged.

Beyond AutoCharge, the Gentari Go app has refreshed its rewards structure and strengthened its security measures.

Existing points earned before 30 June 2026 remain valid until 31 December 2026, while points earned from 1 July 2026 onwards will be valid for 180 days from the date they are earned.

On security, users will be required to verify their mobile number to access Gentari Go credits to better protect user credits and rewards while improving transparency around credit balances and expiry dates.

The updated Gentari Go app is available from 1 July 2026. Drivers can update their app, enrol in AutoCharge, and verify their mobile number in just a few minutes to unlock the latest experience.
