2026 Yamaha TMAX Tech Max comes with new Crystal Graphite colour – priced at RM75,888

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd has announced a new colour option, Crystal Graphite for the Yamaha TMAX Tech Max 2026.

This maxi scooter in the new colour is priced at RM75,888, excluding registration fees and insurance.

The Yamaha TMAX Tech Max is still powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC 562 cc twin-cylinder engine, delivering 46.9 hp at 7,000 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm.

The suspension system features telescopic forks at the front, complemented by a single shock absorber at the rear.

Additionally, it comes equipped with several premium features, including:

  • Cruise control
  • Traction Control System (TCS)
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Communication Control Unit (CCU) compatible with the Y-Connect app

The fuel tank has a capacity of 15 liters, while the seat height is approximately 800 mm.

In addition to the Crystal Graphite colour, buyers can still choose the Ceramic Grey option.

2026 Yamaha Tenere 700 officially launched in Malaysia, priced from RM58,998

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor today officially announced the arrival of the updated Yamaha Tenere 700 model for the year 2026.

This locally assembled unit is offered at a price of RM58,998 on the road without insurance.

Specifications of the Tenere 700

This adventure touring machine is powered by a Euro 5+ compliant 690 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine.

The engine produces around 72 hp at 9,000 rpm and a torque of 68 Nm at 6,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed transmission.

For the first time, the Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) feature is included in this CP2 engine for smoother throttle response.

The suspension system of this machine consists of fully adjustable 43 mm USD front forks, complemented by a fully adjustable single shock absorber.

The wheel travel measures approximately 210 mm at the front and 200 mm at the rear.

2026 Yamaha PG-1 available in two new colours, priced at RM6,998

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has announced that two new colours are now available for the 2026 Yamaha PG-1 motorcycle.

The two colour options are Classic Black and Sky Blue.

 

Specifications Remain Unchanged

The Yamaha PG-1 continues to be powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 114 cc, producing 8.9 hp at 7,000 rpm and a torque of 9.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

Its backbone frame is supported by a telescopic fork suspension at the front, complemented by dual shock absorbers at the rear.

The braking system consists of a single disc setup at the front and a drum brake at the rear.

Overall, the PG-1 weighs just 107 kg, with a fuel tank capacity of 5.1 liters and a seat height of 795 mm.

The selling price is RM6,998 on the road, excluding insurance and registration.

2026 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT now in Malaysia – priced from RM71,888

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor today launched the new 2026 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT for the Malaysian market.

Unlike its predecessor, the Tracer 9 GT features a more aggressive design and modern technology.

 

Engine

The Tracer 9 GT is powered by a 890 cc inline three-cylinder DOHC engine that delivers 119 PS at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission and offers fuel consumption of 5.0L/100 km.

 

Suspension & Brakes

The suspension setup consists of an inverted telescopic fork (USD) at the front and a swingarm with a single shock absorber at the rear.

The Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) feature, developed by KYB, automatically adjusts damping settings based on riding mode and road conditions.

The braking system utilizes a dual 298 mm rotor at the front and a single 267 mm rotor at the rear.

 

Available Features

The all-new Tracer 9 GT comes equipped with modern features such as adaptive Matrix LED headlights, a third-generation quick shifter, a smart key system, and an electronically adjustable windscreen.

All information can be accessed via a seven-inch TFT display, complete with Garmin navigation support and Y-Connect app.

The motorcycle offers three riding modes: Sport, Street, and Rain, along with two customizable modes.

The fuel tank capacity is 19 liters, while the seat height is 845 mm.

HLYM announces two new colours for 2026 Yamaha NMAX ABS, priced at RM11,499

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has announced two new colour options available for the Yamaha NMAX ABS 2026 scooter.

The new colours are Icon Blue and Crystal Graphite.

The retail price of the Yamaha NMAX ABS 2026 starts at RM11,498 (excluding registration fees and insurance).

The basic specifications of the NMAX remain unchanged, powered by a single-cylinder SOHC 155 cc engine that produces 15.2 hp at 8,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

This scooter features a telescopic fork suspension at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, while the braking system includes a single 230 mm disc at both the front and rear.

The overall weight of the scooter is just 131 kg, with a seat height of 775 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 7.1 liters.

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor announced the 2026 Yamaha Ego Avantiz is now available in three new colour options: black, blue, and green.

The selling price starts from RM5,998 on the road, excluding insurance and registration.

The basic specifications of this scooter remain unchanged, powered by an air-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 9.4 hp at 8,000 rpm and torque of 9.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm.

Its underbone steel frame is supported by a telescopic fork at the front, complemented by a single shock absorber at the rear.

Yamaha Ego Gear Pro officially launched in Malaysia – priced at RM6,198

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has announced the arrival of the new Yamaha Ego Gear Pro, with a retail price of RM6,198 excluding insurance.

This scooter is powered by a single-cylinder 125 cc Blue Core Hybrid engine, assisted by a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), producing 8.4 PS at 6,500 rpm and a torque of 9.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The engine also features a Power Assist function for more robust acceleration, along with smoother Start & Stop operations.

The suspension consists of telescopic forks at the front, complemented by a swingarm setup and a single shock absorber at the rear.

Available features include LED lighting units, a wide anti-slip floorboard, an 18.6-liter under-seat storage compartment, a 5.1-liter fuel tank, an LCD display screen, and support for connection to the Y-Connect app.

The scooter is available in three colors: Stellar White, Navy Green, and Cosmic Blue.

Yamaha Y15ZR now available in 3 new colours, priced from RM8,998

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has announced an update to the Yamaha Y15ZR model with three new colour options.

The new colours are Blue Spark, Aqua Violet, and Mecha Green.

The Yamaha Y15ZR in these new colors has been available at all authorized Yamaha dealers nationwide since November 6, with a selling price starting at RM8,998, excluding registration and insurance.

The basic specifications of the Yamaha Y15ZR remain unchanged, featuring a single-cylinder 150 cc liquid-cooled SOHC engine that produces 15.2 hp at 8,500 rpm and torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

The suspension consists of telescopic forks at the front, followed by a swingarm at the rear, while the braking system uses a single rotor setup for both wheels.

The Y15ZR offers a fuel tank capacity of 4.2 liters and a seat height of 780 mm.

 

2025 Yamaha YZF-R25 officially launched in Malaysia – priced at RM23,098

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has officially launched the upgraded 250 cc Yamaha YZF-R25 for 2025 model year.

The most significant change in this facelift version is undoubtedly its appearance, featuring a design inspired by the larger R models, sharper headlights, and a new taillight.

Additionally, the LCD display now includes connectivity to the Y-Connect smartphone application.

In terms of power, the R25 is equipped with a 249.5 cc engine capable of generating 35.4 hp at 12,000 rpm and a torque of 22.5 Nm at 10,000 rpm, paired with a six-speed transmission and assist/slipper clutch.

The suspension consists of an inverted telescopic fork at the front, followed by a single shock absorber at the rear.

The braking system features a dual-piston caliper in the front, a single-piston caliper in the back, and comes standard with a two-channel ABS braking system.

The fuel tank capacity is 14 liters, while the seat height is 780 mm.

For the Malaysian market, there are two color options available: Pearl Blue and Racing Blue, with a starting price of RM23,098.

2025 Yamaha MT-15 now available in new Ice Storm colour – priced from RM12,498 in Malaysia

In addition to updates for the Y15ZR model, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has also announced the new Ice Storm colour option for the Yamaha MT-15 2025.

Alongside Ice Storm, buyers can still choose the existing Midnight Black colour, with a selling price of RM12,498, excluding insurance and registration fees.

This 155cc machine can produce 19 hp at 10,000 rpm and a torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm.

Other features include telescopic front forks, a single rear shock absorber, a disc braking system, a seat height of 810 mm, and a 10-liter fuel tank.

The Yamaha MT-15 2025 will be available at all authorized Yamaha dealers starting April 8, 2025.

Hong Leong Yamaha launches road safety campaign themed ‘Terang Dalam Gelap’

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM), in collaboration with the Motorcycle & Scooter Dealer Association of Malaysia (MMSDA), recently launched its annual road safety campaign themed ‘Terang Dalam Gelap’ at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about nighttime riding safety while also offering safety initiatives including a helmet exchange program, motorcycle safety checks, and interactive public activities.

HLYM adopted a new approach by holding the campaign in the evening, aligning it with local community activities and bustling bazaar areas.

In addition, it employs a creative storytelling approach using illustrated characters and interactive digital engagement to reinforce road safety messages.

In this way, HLYM hopes that the implemented campaign will make a more effective impact, while ensuring motorcycles are ready for a safer and smoother ‘balik kampung’ journey.

According to Dato’ Professor Dr. Jim Khor, Group Managing Director of Hong Leong Industries Berhad, “At HLYM, our role goes beyond simply providing motorcycles; we care about our riders’ safety.

“‘Terang Dalam Gelap’ is more than just a campaign; it’s our way of looking out for the community and equipping them with the right knowledge and tools to ride safely,” he stated.

HLYM will also continue this safety campaign initiative by organizing a Free Motorcycle Inspection Campaign at all authorized Yamaha dealers nationwide from March 20 to March 27, 2025.

HLYM celebrates 6th million motorcycle production milestone, launches Space Y museum

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) celebrated the remarkable achievement of producing its 6 millionth motorcycle at its Sungai Buloh factory.

The milestone model is a Yamaha Y16ZR, unveiled during a ceremony attended by Dato’ Prof. Dr. Jim Khor, Managing Director of Hong Leong Industries Bhd; Katsuaki Watanabe, Chairman, Director, and President of Yamaha Motor Japan; Datuk Kwek Leng San, President and CEO of Hong Leong Manufacturing Group; and Datuk Wee Hong, Chairman of the Malaysian Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association.

According to Dato’ Jim Khor, “Previously, the production figure of 5 million was a proud achievement reached over a span of 46 months. Today, we celebrate the achievement of 6 million motorcycles produced in just 37 months, marking the fastest million-unit production in the history of the Malaysian motorcycle industry.”

In conjunction with this achievement, HLYM also officially opened Space Y, the first motorcycle museum in Malaysia, which has been recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records.

Located at the Yamaha Motor Lifestyle Station HQ, Space Y features a spacious 9,000 square feet area that showcases engaging exhibits, including historical and racing sections, an innovation tunnel, interactive art spaces, a theater, and an exclusive Space Y merchandise store.

The museum is open daily except on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and visitors can enjoy free admission until December 31, 2024. Starting January 2025, an entrance fee of RM5 for adults and RM3 for children will be implemented.
