2026 Yamaha Y16ZR‑R officially launched in Malaysia, priced from RM10,888
Hong Leong Yamaha Motor has unveiled the all‑new Yamaha Y16ZR‑R 2026 for the Malaysian market.
The model is offered in three striking colours — Kouka Grey, Raijin Green, and Yoru Black — with prices starting from RM10,888.
Y16ZR‑R Specifications
The new Y16ZR‑R is powered by a 155 cc liquid‑cooled single‑cylinder engine delivering 18.2 hp at 9,500 rpm and 14.4 Nm at 8,500 rpm.
Yamaha says the 2026 model introduces several updates, including:
- 48T rear sprocket for more responsive acceleration
- Twin Funnel air intake system that enhances intake sound during hard acceleration
The Y16ZR‑R also features sportier bodywork, new LED position lights, and redesigned front and rear lighting.
The LCD instrument panel is retained, but now integrates a Simple Communication Control Unit (SCCU) with Y‑On app support for smartphone connectivity.
Other key features include:
- Front telescopic fork / rear monoshock
- Single‑channel ABS
- Traction Control System (TCS)
- 17‑inch wheels
- 5.4‑litre fuel tank
- 795 mm seat height
Pramac Racing Limited Edition
Yamaha has also introduced the Y16ZR‑R Pramac Racing Replica Limited Edition, priced at RM13,388.
Production is capped at 3,000 units worldwide, and each unit comes with:
- Special Yamaha Prima Pramac MotoGP Team livery
- Unique serial‑number emblem
- Exclusive Öhlins rear suspension
