Video of double line cutting goes viral, JPJ officer suspended
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced the suspension of an officer found guilty of overtaking on a double line, as seen in a video that has gone viral on social media.
In addition to the suspension, the officer involved has also been fined, subjected to a driving ban of departmental vehicles, and reassigned to a group position at the JPJ Headquarters until the investigation is completed.
Following this incident, the JPJ has also initiated further investigations into other offenses committed by the officer for additional action.
In the viral video, a JPJ vehicle, a Honda CR-V, was seen overtaking heavy vehicles on a bend that had double lines.
JPJ expresses its highest appreciation and urges the public to continue reporting violations committed by road users through the MyJPJ app or via email at aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my.
