Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia officially opens a new 3S centre in Selayang

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia continues to strengthen its nationwide retail presence with the official opening of Omoda | Jaecoo Selayang operated by Carro Digital Sdn Bhd.

Head of Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia, Chris Tan, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our dealer partner, Carro Digital, on the opening of this new facility. The opening of the Selayang outlet not only adds another location to our network, it also represents our confidence in the Malaysian market and our commitment to growing together with trusted partners such as Carro Digital.”

The fully fledged 3S (Sales, Service and Spare Parts) facility further strengthens the brand’s retail and aftersales network following Carro Digital’s appointment as an authorised Omoda | Jaecoo dealer in March 2026, enhancing customer accessibility while raising operational standards across the country.

2026 Jaecoo J5 officially launched in Malaysia – priced from RM108,000

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has officially launched the 2026 Jaecoo J5 SUV for the local market, with an introductory retail price of RM102,000.

This special pricing is valid from March 5 to March 15, 2026, after which the vehicle will be priced at RM108,000.

As a B-segment SUV, the Jaecoo J5 is positioned as a more compact alternative to the existing Jaecoo J7 SUV.

 

Jaecoo J5 Specifications

The model is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, capable of producing 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque.

Power is delivered to the front wheels through a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The vehicle’s fuel consumption is rated at approximately 6.4 liters per 100 km.

In terms of dimensions, the Jaecoo J5 measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.

Among its competitors in the B-segment SUV category, the J5 shares a similar length with the Proton X50 but is slightly shorter than the Chery Omoda 5, Chery Tiggo Cross, and Honda HR-V.

However, the J5 boasts a longer wheelbase, contributing to a more spacious cabin.

The J5 offers a cargo capacity of 480 liters, which expands to 1,180 liters when the 60:40 split-folding second-row seats are stowed.

Unique to its segment, the Jaecoo J5 features MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear.

By comparison, most of its rivals in the B-segment SUV category utilize a simpler torsion beam configuration.

In line with other Jaecoo models, the J5 features a premium exterior design inspired by British SUV brands.

To enhance its stylish image, it is equipped with 18-inch wheels wrapped in 235/55 R18 tires.

Other notable exterior features include a single-housing headlight and daytime running light setup, a prominent grille, conventional door handles, a powered tailgate, and a rear spoiler.

The cabin is equipped with an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch 2K resolution central infotainment screen.

The system supports WiFi, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, complemented by an 8-speaker audio system.

Additionally, the J5 features a 1.45-square-meter panoramic glass roof and a wireless device charging slot with active ventilation.

Notably, the interior utilizes TUV-certified pet-friendly materials.

2026 Jaecoo J5 bookings now open, estimated price RM120,000

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has announced the opening of bookings for the soon-to-be-launched Jaecoo J5 SUV model.

With an estimated selling price of around RM120,000, the Jaecoo J5 is set to invigorate the SUV segment in Malaysia.

The Jaecoo J5 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, producing 147 PS and 210 Nm of torque.

This engine is paired with a CVT transmission, offering fuel consumption of approximately 7.5 liters per 100 km.

The J5 competes with B-segment SUV models in the market, such as the Chery Tiggo Cross, Chery Omoda 05, Proton X50, and Honda HR-V.

The vehicle measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.

It offers a cargo space of 480 liters, which can expand to 1,180 liters when the second-row seats are folded in a 60:40 split.

The J5 features a unique suspension setup, consisting of MacPherson struts in the front and a multi-link arrangement in the rear.

In terms of cabin space, it includes amenities such as an 8-inch LCD cluster screen, a 13.2-inch 2K resolution infotainment screen, Wi-Fi support, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 8-speaker audio system.

Safety features also include Level 2.5 ADAS and a 540-degree surround camera system.

Since its debut in 2024, Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has continued to record impressive achievements.

In its first year, more than 7,040 units were sold, with that figure soaring to 17,849 units in 2025, marking an increase of over 153 percent.

Among these, the Jaecoo J7 was the best-selling model (11,522 units), while over 3,000 customers chose the Jaecoo J7 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia celebrates delivery of 20,000th vehicle

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia celebrated a significant milestone with the delivery of its 20,000th vehicle within 14 months of the brand’s introduction in the country.

The delivery of the 20,000th vehicle was commemorated at an exclusive event themed “20,000 and Beyond: A Celebration of Trust,” held at the Blossom Glass Mansion in Kuala Lumpur.

Over 100 guests attended the event, which also witnessed the handover of a Jaecoo J7 PHEV to its new owner, Khirdzir Ali.

“Like many others, I am truly honored to be part of this remarkable achievement with the delivery of the 20,000th Omoda | Jaecoo vehicle in Malaysia. It is immensely gratifying to see how quickly this brand has grown and the positive response it has received from drivers in Malaysia,” Khirdzir stated.

He also expressed his eagerness to enjoy the comfort and efficiency of the new J7 PHEV with his family.

In addition to family-friendly activities and the exhibition of the soon-to-be-launched Jaecoo J5 model, a J7 AWD owned by Irene Tee, which has recorded a mileage of 70,000 km in less than a year, was also showcased.

This achievement also solidifies its position among the top five automotive brands for the first half of 2025 (1H 2025).

In conjunction with this latest achievement, Omoda | Jaecoo is offering a promotion of free 7-year service or a reward valued at RM5,000 for the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, valid until December 31, 2025.

2025 Omoda C9 PHEV offers 1,100 km range, launch expected this year

In addition to the Jaecoo J5 model, Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia is set to launch another SUV model, the Omoda C9 Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) variant, this year.

While the non-hybrid variant comes equipped with a 2.0L turbo engine (261 PS/400 Nm), the PHEV variant features a 1.5-liter engine paired with three electric motors.

The total power output reaches 605 PS and torque measures 915 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

With a three-speed hybrid DHT transmission, the Omoda C9 PHEV boasts fuel consumption as low as 1.7 liters per 100 km.

Its 34.46 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack offers an emission-free range of up to 150 km, contributing to an overall driving range of 1,100 km.

Additionally, it supports AC charging of up to 6.6 kW and fast DC charging of up to 70 kW.

Like the C9 ICE model, the C9 PHEV is also equipped with MacPherson strut and multi-link suspension setups, as well as a Continuous Damping Control (CDC) system that can adjust suspension response up to 100 times per second.

There are up to seven driving modes available to adapt to current driving conditions.

The estimated selling price for the Omoda C9 PHEV is around RM220,000.

For reference, the standard Omoda C9 variant starts at RM168,000 for the 2WD version, and RM188,000 for the all-wheel drive (AWD) version.

Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia has officially launched the premium SUV, the 2025 Jaecoo J8, featuring the slogan “Off-Road First Class”

Here are some key facts you should know:

 

1. Seating Configuration


For the Malaysian market, the Jaecoo J8 is available in a front-wheel drive (2WD) version with a two-row seating setup, accommodating up to five passengers.

The most premium variant is an all-wheel drive (AWD) model with a three-row seating arrangement in a 2+2+2 configuration.

 

2. Dimensions


The Jaecoo J8 measures 4,820 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,699 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

The cargo space is 738 liters, which reduces to 200 liters for the AWD version.

 

3. Power


This SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces 249 PS and 385 Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 8.8 seconds, while the AWD variant takes 9.0 seconds to reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h.

Fuel consumption rates are as low as 7.8 liters/100 km for the 2WD version and 8.1 liters/100 km for the AWD variant.

 

4. Suspension


The SUV features a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear.

The Jaecoo J8 is a locally assembled unit (CKD) produced in Shah Alam, with a starting price of RM178,800 for the 2WD version and going up to RM198,800 for the AWD version.
