Auto China 2026: Omoda C7 to join OJ Malaysia this year
Another SUV model showcased at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show is the Omoda O7.
This SUV is confirmed to enter the Malaysian market under the name C7.
This means it will be positioned between the Omoda C4 and the Omoda C9, which have been on sale since December 2024.
Powertrain Unit
At the Beijing Auto Show, the Omoda C7 displayed is the SHS-P variant, referring to its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system.
According to CarNewsChina, this SUV is powered by a hybrid 1.5 TGDi engine with an emission-free range of 95 km and an overall driving range of 1,250 km.
For the J7 PHEV, the SHS system features:
- 1.5-liter TGDi engine with 156 PS/220 Nm
- Electric motor with 204 PS/310 Nm
- 18.3 kWh battery
- Emission-free driving range of 88 km

The Omoda C7 is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine producing 197 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission.
Dimensions
The Omoda C7 is a compact/mid-size SUV, measuring approximately 4,621 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width, and 1,673 mm in height.
The wheelbase is around 2,700 mm.
Exterior
From the front, the Omoda C7 features sharp, elongated headlights, complemented by a bumper opening adorned with honeycomb elements.
Similar to the Omoda C4, the rear lights of the C7 also incorporate graphic elements within a full-length housing.
Additionally, this SUV is equipped with two-tone 20-inch wheels and a floating roof design.
Cabin
Upon entering, you are greeted with a pair of gaming-style seats wrapped in leather.
The steering wheel is also said to be inspired by the wood finish of the PlayStation 5.
Other features include:
- A small digital cluster screen
- A central screen measuring 15.6 inches that can be repositioned
- Sony audio system
- Voice command and gesture control functionalities
More details will be revealed leading up to its official introduction in the Malaysian market this year.
