Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (MODENAS) has officially introduced the 2026 Kawasaki KLE 500 adventure motorcycle for the Malaysian market.
For context, the KLE 500 is a well‑known name from the 1990s, remembered for its versatility and durability.
The new model is priced from RM32,900 (excluding insurance and road tax).
KLE 500 Specifications
The motorcycle is powered by a 451 cc liquid‑cooled DOHC parallel‑twin engine, producing 44.8 hp at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a 6‑speed transmission and chain final drive.
The KLE 500 features a trellis frame, paired with 43 mm KYB upside‑down forks at the front and a Uni‑Trak monoshock at the rear. Wheel travel is rated at 210 mm (front) and 196 mm (rear).
Braking is handled by a two‑piston caliper with a 300 mm front disc, while the rear uses a 230 mm disc.
Other notable features include:
- 16‑litre fuel tank
- 21‑inch front / 17‑inch rear spoked wheels
- 3‑position adjustable windscreen
- LCD instrument display
- 870 mm seat height
- Switchable ABS
The Kawasaki KLE 500 is offered exclusively in a combination of Metallic Carbon Gray, Ebony, and Frame Flat Black.
