Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has announced plans to expand its Big Bike business in Malaysia.

The move is in line with the rapid growth of the country’s motorcycle segment for models with engine capacities of 250 cc and above.

Expanding the model lineup

To strengthen its market position, HLYM will revamp its Big Bike operations for fully imported (CBU) models.

Under this strategy, HLYM will expand its existing lineup from seven to more than 20 models, comprising both CBU and locally assembled (CKD) motorcycles.

To support this initiative, HLYM has partnered with Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. and DRB-HICOM Auto Solutions Sdn Bhd (DHAS), bringing together expertise in manufacturing, distribution and assembly.

Three key components of BLU

HLYM also announced its BLU Big Bike network, a comprehensive ecosystem covering sales, aftersales services, lifestyle activities and community engagement.

The new BLU network comprises the following:

BLU Nexus

BLU Nexus serves as the premium flagship showroom at the Hong Leong Yamaha Complex in Sungai Buloh.

Visitors can explore various motorcycle categories, assess riding positions and seat heights, and purchase official Yamaha apparel and merchandise.

BLU Universe

BLU Universe is a premium dealer network for CKD motorcycles with engine capacities of 250 cc and above, effective from 1 January 2027.

A total of 19 outlets are expected to be introduced progressively across Malaysia by the first quarter of 2028, including the first four outlets by the end of 2026.

Each BLU Universe outlet features an integrated BLU CARE service centre staffed by certified technicians and service advisors, supported by genuine spare parts.

Other services offered include:
