Elevate your Suzuki Jimny with a Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series style body kit

The Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series is one of the enduring vehicles from the 1980s that continues to be produced today.

The reason is simple: even in its standard specifications, it is tough and capable of conquering any terrain.

While there are not many places left on Earth that still offer the Land Cruiser 70 Series, if you are looking for something similar, this is your answer.

The 70YO.70 body kit, developed by Japanese experts Jimmy Land in collaboration with tuning garage Ill, brings a mini version of the Land Cruiser 70 Series.

A Mini Version of the Land Cruiser 70 Series

Unlike the typical body kits seen for the Jimny, this modification styled after the 70 Series is much more comprehensive, particularly at the front.

Some notable changes include:

  • A thicker hood structure
  • A 70YO.70 badge that resembles TOYOTA from a distance
  • Round LED headlights
  • Turn signal lights
  • A distinctive grille

Additionally, several extra touches have been added to this Jimny to enhance the Land Cruiser 70 Series image, such as:

  • Side air vents
  • Faux grille at the rear
  • Decorative AdBlue cover (even though the Jimny actually still uses a petrol engine!)

Based on the provided images, this body kit also appears to be well-suited for the five-door version of the Jimny.

Extra Accessories

In addition to the features mentioned above, Jimny owners can pair the 70YO.70 body kit with off-road accessories.

These options include snorkels, alloy rims fitted with all-terrain tires, and an upgraded suspension system for increased height.

Engine Specifications Remain Standard

Despite the Land Cruiser 70 Series styling changes, the Jimny retains its standard 1.5L inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, producing 101 hp.

It definitely lacks the power of the Land Cruiser with its 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine.

Power is transmitted to all wheels through either a manual or automatic transmission, both compatible with a 4WD system.

Ready-Made Versions Priced at RM106,000

It has been reported that a few ready-made units have already begun to sell in the Japanese market, available in Sand Beige, White, and Black colors.

The retail price for this particular Beige Jimny is listed at ¥4,250,000 (about RM106,154).

Suzuki Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition – final edition, 55 special units for the French market

Suzuki has just launched the Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition to celebrate the iconic off-road SUV, which will be discontinued in the European market.

Since its first generation was introduced in 1970, the Suzuki Jimny has successfully sold over three million units worldwide.

This special edition model will also be offered in a limited run of 55 units, specifically for the French market.

Each of these models features unique characteristics such as a retro-designed front grille, retro side decals, a Rhino spare tire protector, and red Jimny-branded mudflaps for both the front and rear wheels.

Inside the cabin, the 55th Anniversary Jimny comes equipped with rubber floor mats in the passenger area and rear cargo space.

Additionally, buyers will receive a logbook with an embossed leather cover to record their most treasured memories, a special keychain, and a commemorative plaque on the center console.

There are four color options available: Bluish Black, Jungle Green, Medium Gray, and White.

Each buyer will also have the opportunity to attend a 4×4 driving course to further enhance their off-road driving skills.

Fundamentally, the Suzuki Jimny remains powered by a 1.5-liter engine that produces 102 hp at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

In the French market, this anniversary edition which also serves as the final edition, is priced at €28,955 (RM141,428).

Reservations have already closed, and customers will receive their units this month.

Suzuki S-Presso now features a Jimny-inspired body kit

At first glance, the front design resembles that of the Suzuki Jimny, but don’t be fooled by this well-executed work.

This model, which looks like a Jimny, is actually the Suzuki S-Presso, a segment A crossover produced by Maruti Suzuki for markets such as Africa, Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East.

The body kit, inspired by the off-road SUV Jimny, has been designed by the Indonesian company GH Style.

The most notable changes are at the front, where it features a new structure complete with round headlights, a rectangular grille, and a redesigned bumper that houses the fog lamp housings.

Additionally, the S-Presso is equipped with wider fender flares, followed by a rear spoiler and a redesigned rear bumper.

Lastly, all four corners of the wheel arches are adorned with new white rims.

In terms of power, the Suzuki S-Presso is equipped with a 998 cc three-cylinder inline engine that produces 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque.

While this may seem underpowered, it is more than sufficient to make the 730 kg S-Presso agile on urban roads.
