EICMA 2026: 2027 Suzuki GSX-10R unveiled, a 1,000 cc-class sportbike with 152 hp

Suzuki unveiled the GSX-10R at EICMA 2026, a new sportbike that combines track performance with everyday practicality.

Despite the “R” in its name, the model shares many components with the GSX-S1000 family, while adopting aggressive riding ergonomics similar to the GSX-R1000R.

Its design retains traditional GSX-R styling elements, paired with a smaller central headlight.

According to Suzuki, the front fairing underwent repeated wind tunnel testing to create a protective pocket of air around the rider’s helmet when tucked in.

A pair of short winglets focuses more on managing airflow than generating downforce.

Specifications

The Suzuki GSX-10R uses an updated version of the K5 engine found in the GSX-S1000GT, GSX-S1000GX and Katana.

The engine produces 152 hp at 11,000 rpm and approximately 114 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm.

Suzuki has updated the engine with revised cam profiles, new camshafts, a cam chain sprocket, a cylinder head, engine cases and crankshaft journals.

According to Suzuki, these changes aim to balance performance and reliability while preparing the engine for alcohol-based fuels in the future.

It also features a slipper clutch and a four-into-one exhaust system, with a smaller silencer than the GSX-R1000R.

The chassis is similar to those used by the GSX-S and Katana models, but features a new subframe to accommodate a sportier riding position.

The suspension setup comprises a 43 mm KYB front fork and a newly designed rear shock absorber, both fully adjustable.

Front braking is handled by twin 310 mm discs and Brembo radial monoblock calipers.

Other features include:

  • A TFT display
  • 18-litre fuel tank
  • A seat height of 810 mm
  • Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres
  • A bidirectional quickshifter
  • Suzuki Ground Beacon System

The Suzuki GSX-10R also features IMU-based electronic rider aids through its Smart Traction, Lift, Roll Torque and Slide Control (SMART TLRS) package.

Other electronic equipment includes three power maps, lean-sensitive ABS, engine braking control, launch control and cruise control.

A Brake Hold system maintains rear brake pressure for 30 seconds after the motorcycle comes to a stop.

Brake Hold disengages when the rider opens the throttle or quickly squeezes the front brake lever twice.

The GSX-10R is offered in three colour combinations:

  • Pearl Vigor Blue / Metallic Mystic Silver
  • Pearl Pulse Red / Solid Iron Grey
  • Glass Sparkle Black / Metallic Galaxy Grey
