5 things you need to know about the Aurus Senat Limousine owned by YDPA

Did you know that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Sultan Ibrahim is now the latest owner of the Aurus Senat Limousine, which was gifted by the Russian Federation?

This ownership is unique, as the Aurus Senat is rarely found outside of Russia and is not widely exported to international markets.

The Aurus Senat is also used as the official vehicle for the top leadership in Russia, particularly for its President, Vladimir Putin, during national ceremonies.

Here are some interesting facts about this luxurious Russian sedan.

Different Length Dimensions

The Aurus Senat Limousine is the longest sedan available, measuring 6,620 mm in length.

In addition to the Limousine version, there are two other variants offered.

The standard version measures 5,632 mm with a wheelbase of 3,300 mm.

The Long version measures around 6,130 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,800 mm.

V8 Power

All three versions of the Aurus Senat are powered by a hybrid V8 engine with a displacement of 4,400 cc.

With the assistance of a 62 hp electric motor, the total power output can reach 598 hp at 5,500 rpm and 880 Nm at 2,200-4,750 rpm.

This power is delivered to all wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

With the aforementioned hybrid system, the Senat can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

The Long version can accelerate in 8.1 seconds, though its maximum speed is about 190 km/h.

The Limousine version can accelerate in 9 seconds. Why is that? Refer to the next point.

Enhanced Protection for Limousine

Unlike the two sedan variants mentioned above, the Limousine variant is specifically designed for VIP use.

Due to its specialized purpose, the Senat Limousine is equipped with ballistic protection rated VR8/VR10.

In addition to this, the long sedan features:

  • Bulletproof 20-inch tires
  • Fire- and explosion-resistant fuel tank
  • Fire suppression system
  • Air filtration system
  • External communication system
  • Emergency exit routes

With these features, it’s no surprise that the Senat Limousine weighs 6,200 kg.

For comparison, the standard Senat weighs 3,490 kg, while the Long version weighs 3,910 kg.

Price

According to the official website, the Aurus Senat is priced starting from 48,500,000 rubles (approximately RM 2.6 million).

For your information, the displayed price refers only to the standard Senat.

Sultan Ibrahim acquires RM1.75 million ‘FFF 1’ number plate

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar has won the ‘FFF 1’ number plate with a record-breaking bid of RM1.75 million.

In a Facebook post, Sultan Ibrahim expressed hope that the proceeds from the bid, channeled to the Federal Government, can be used to benefit the people.

Last February, Sultan Ibrahim emerged as the owner of the special edition ‘GOLD 1’ vehicle registration number plate with a bidding value of RM1.5 million, which was the highest bid in the country at that time.

Last year, the ‘FF1’ vehicle registration plate also went to Sultan Ibrahim following a bid of RM1.2 million. In 2016, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was reported to have bought the ‘F1’ number plate for RM836,660.

The special FFF plate series was launched by Road Transport Department (JPJ) in May this year in conjunction with the celebration of the department’s 78th Anniversary.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook mentioned that the special plate series was open for bidding from May 11 and ended on the night of May 15, with the bid results announced the following day.

“The introduction of this new plate series is a continuation of the yearly JPJ anniversary celebration, having previously issued series like F, FA, FB, FC, and FF.

“Moreover, earlier this year, the GOLD plate series was launched, which successfully generated returns of RM17 million, so we hope that the FFF series can achieve a collection value of RM20 million,” he said.
