Dongfeng Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd has recently launched its business as the official distributor of Dongfeng trucks.

At the same time, they introduced a complete range of Dongfeng heavy-duty trucks for the Malaysian market, which includes:

• 6×4 & 8×4 tipper trucks
• 6×4 concrete mixers
• 4×2 & 6×4 prime movers

This new generation of heavy-duty trucks meets EURO V standards, utilizing tested engines and drive technology from leading manufacturers.

All trucks will be imported as CKD variants, with Gemilang Coachwork Sdn Bhd as the assembly partner.

Led by Industry Veteran

The business will be led by industry veteran Quek Wang, the Executive Director of Dongfeng Heavy Industries, who will address the needs of local transport owners.

During the same event, Dongfeng Heavy Industries signed a purchase agreement with Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles for 200 units of trucks.

Additionally, an assembly agreement between Dongfeng Heavy Industries and Gemilang Coachwork, along with several purchase agreements with customers, has also been finalized.

CKD Program in Johor

According to Quek, Gemilang Coachwork was chosen for its expertise in manufacturing precision, advanced production engineering capabilities, and strict quality control processes.

Moreover, Gemilang Coachwork’s strengths lie in their ability to integrate complex systems, manage stringent compliance requirements, and maintain consistent construction standards across various vehicle platforms.

Pang Jun Jie, Director of Gemilang Coachwork, added, “Our capability to produce CKD units as reliable, market-ready commercial vehicles clearly demonstrates our suitability as a strategic partner for Dongfeng’s growth aspirations in Malaysia.”

Strategically Located Workshop Network

Dongfeng Heavy Industries will also establish a network of workshops at strategic locations for after-sales support.

Additionally, the company will mandate that each workshop must offer mobile rescue services.
