Xforce CKD production begins, Mitsubishi targets delivery of the first 800 units this April

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) recently marked a significant milestone with the official mass-production line-off of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce from its assembly line at the Pekan plant.

Bookings for the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce will open within the same week.

The introduction of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce underscores Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s continued commitment to product expansion and advanced local manufacturing.

To support this milestone, MMM has upgraded its Pekan manufacturing operations, including the establishment of a new Sub-Assembly Body Shop and the installation of advanced equipment across the paint, outfitting, and tester lines to support the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce.

Production of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce at Pekan is carried out in accordance with Mitsubishi Motors’ globally established production standards, developed through decades of Japanese manufacturing expertise.

From body assembly to painting and final inspection, each process is governed by disciplined workmanship and stringent quality controls to ensure consistent build quality, durability, and long-term reliability.

Commenting on the milestone, Takashi Sakamaki, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, said: “Mass production of the all-new Mitsubishi Xforce represents the application of Mitsubishi Motors’ Japanese manufacturing philosophy at our Pekan plant. Built on precision, process discipline, and continuous improvement, these standards ensure that every Xforce produced here meets the same quality benchmarks as Mitsubishi vehicles manufactured anywhere in the world. Our priority is to deliver vehicles that embody Mitsubishi Motors’ highest global standards, giving customers confidence, reliability, and pride of ownership from the very first day.”

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia aims to deliver the first 800 units of the all-new Xforce within April, following comprehensive quality validation and production readiness checks.

The roll-out of the all-new Xforce from Pekan reaffirms Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s long-term commitment to local manufacturing and to delivering vehicles engineered for driving performance, reliability, and peace of mind.

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has confirmed that the latest B-segment SUV, the 2026 Mitsubishi Xforce will be launched soon.

Official reservations will be available in early February, but Malaysians can express their interest early through this link.

Customers who register their interest will be given priority for invitations to related launch events and exclusive product updates.

As part of the pre-launch activities, the Mitsubishi Xforce will tour various locations across the country, with the details as follows:

  • January 16-28: Kuala Lumpur & Selangor
  • February 5-15: Penang, Perak & Johor
  • March 1-15: Kuantan, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur & Selangor

Guided by the slogan “Exceed Xpectations,” the Mitsubishi Xforce is designed to offer smart and practical value tailored to the needs of today’s drivers, including superior handling, stylish design, comfort, and fuel efficiency.

The Mitsubishi Xforce has also received international recognition, winning the iF Design Award 2024 in the Product Design category.

The Mitsubishi Xforce is powered by a 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine delivering 103 hp and 141 Nm, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive.

Despite being equipped only with a 2WD system, the Xforce boasts features typical of an off-road SUV, such as a ground clearance of 222 mm, a 21-degree approach angle, a 35-degree departure angle, and four driving modes (Normal, Gravel, Mud, Wet).

For the record, the Mitsubishi Xforce has also received a five-star rating in the ASEAN NCAP new vehicle crash test.

Mitsubishi reveals 7-Seater SUV concept, Outlander replacement?

Mitsubishi is set to unveil a concept model for a seven-seater SUV at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show from October 24-27.

Based on the teaser images released, the new model appears to share the front-end design with the Xforce SUV, while the grille design resembles that of the Outlander.

Another image showcases a rather stylish C-pillar design, followed by more prominent shoulder lines.

As usual, no detailed information regarding the model has been disclosed, whether it concerns its size or its platform (monocoque or pickup truck) at the moment.

One possibility is that this model is expected to replace the current Outlander offering, given that the new generation Outlander is now much more advanced and premium for the ASEAN market.

Considering the design similarities, we anticipate that this concept model is a hint towards the presence of a three-row seating version of the Xforce, in line with the brand’s commitment to produce models suitable for ASEAN drivers.

If this holds true, the concept model might possibly share the same 1.5-liter heart used in the Xforce, producing 103 hp paired with a CVT transmission driving the front wheels.

More information will be revealed towards the end of this month.
