Lotus Cars Malaysia opens new outlet in Penang, first outside Klang Valley

Lotus Cars Malaysia has launched its third outlet to further consolidate the brand’s presence in Malaysia.

In addition to the Lotus stores in Pavilion Damansara Heights and Glenmarie Kuala Lumpur, Lotus Store Penang will be the first retail space to be located outside of the Klang Valley in 28 years of presence in the country.

Strategically located at No 2A-01-02, Jalan Penang, 10000 Georgetown, Penang, the new outlet features two Lotus models, the Emira and Eletre, as well as a dedicated configurator lounge where prospective customers can personalise their Lotus vehicles.

“Penang is a very important and strategic location for Lotus Cars Malaysia, and we are extremely pleased to unveil the fully operational facility in 2024,” said Lotus Cars Malaysia Executive Director Mohamed Reza bin Abdul Mutalib.

For the Malaysian market, Lotus Cars Malaysia offers the complete Lotus model line-up comprising the electric performance SUV, the Eletre; the electric Hyper GT, the Emeya, and the mid-engine sportscar, the Emira.

In addition to the base versions, the Eletre and Emeya are also available in S and R variants, while the Emira is offered in First Edition, First Edition V6, Turbo, and Turbo SE guises.

To celebrate the opening of the Lotus Store Penang, new Lotus Emira customers will be treated to a Lotus Factory Experience in Hethel, United Kingdom, in April and October 2025.

Lotus Cars Malaysia is also offering a limited-time payment plan on the Eletre with monthly installments starting from just RM6,388.

Lotus Emeya electric hyper GT now in Malaysia – 3 variants, priced from RM555k-RM777k

LOTUS Cars Malaysia’s second electric vehicle offering for the local market, the Emeya, has been officially launched.

Much like the Eletre, the fully electric Hyper-GT is available in three variants – Emeya, Emeya S, and Emeya R. The base variant is priced at RM555,000, the S variant at RM643,000, while the R variant goes for RM777,000.

These prices do not include road tax and insurance. All variants of the Emeya come with a five-year/150,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, while the battery comes with an eight-year/200,000 km warranty.

Both the base Emeya and Emeya S are powered by two electric motors producing 603 hp and 710 Nm. With a single-speed transmission, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

Meanwhile, the range-topping Emeya R boasts a whopping 905 hp and 985 Nm. Unlike the other two variants, this one has a two-speed transmission, enabling it to complete the century sprint in just 2.8 seconds. Its maximum speed is slightly higher at 256 km/h.

In addition to the powerful electric motors, most of the Emeya’s performance is contributed by its sleek, aerodynamic design.

The car is equipped with an active front grille to reduce wind resistance and cool the battery, an active air dam to increase downforce at the front, an active rear diffuser, as well as a dual-layer active rear spoiler that can generate up to 215 kg of downforce.

Moreover, the Emeya also comes with an all-wheel drive system with Lotus ICC intelligent torque distribution and an electronically controlled air suspension system that is capable of ‘feeling’ the road 1,000 times a second.

All three variants come with a 102 kWh battery, but the range (WLTP) for each variant differs. The base variant offers a range of 610 km, while the S variant offers 540 km. The Emeya R can travel up to 435 km.

On top of 22 kW AC charging, the Emeya also supports fast DC charging up to 350 kW, which can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

The Emeya’s interior features a minimalist design combined with sustainable and durable materials and advanced technology. To reduce carbon footprint, Lotus uses new luxury thread made from repurposed fibres from the fashion industry.

Additionally, you will find a 15.1-inch touchscreen powered by Unreal Engine, as well as a KEF audio system with Uni-Q speakers, Uni-Core space-saving subwoofer enclosure, and 3D Dolby Atmos surround sound. The Road Noise Cancellation (RNC) feature is also included.

For safety, there is a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) comprising features such as obstacle warnings, lane departure, forward collision alerts and blind-spot monitoring. All essential information is displayed through a 55-inch projected augmented reality (AR) head-up display.

2024 Lotus Emeya set to be launched in Malaysia, priced from RM575,000

Lotus Cars Malaysia has announced the arrival of another model of electric Hyper Grand Tourer, the Lotus Emeya, to the Malaysian market.

The electric-powered Hyper-GT machine is set to be launched in the near future, but interested customers can register for an exclusive preview session at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur starting from July 30 to August 4 through THIS link.

The Lotus Emeya is among the most powerful four-door GTs in the world.

With specifications of two electric motors, it is capable of generating up to 905 hp and 985 Nm of torque paired with a two-speed transmission.

Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is as quick as 2.78 seconds before reaching a top speed exceeding 250 km/h.

The Lotus Emeya showcases a range of advanced active aerodynamic features, such as the active front grille structure first seen on the hyper SUV model, Eletre.

The front grille structure is designed to reduce drag and increase the car’s efficiency when closed, but can be used for battery cooling and brake system purposes when opened.

Additionally, there is an active air dam that can enhance downforce at high speeds to improve handling and stability, an active rear spoiler inspired by motorsport, and a dual-layer active rear spoiler capable of generating over 215 kg of downforce.

The Lotus Emeya’s battery pack can offer a range between 490 km to 600 km depending on the variant, as well as support fast DC charging up to 350 kW.

This means owners can extend the range by up to 150 km in just five minutes, or charge from 10-80 percent in just 18 minutes.

The Lotus Emeya also comes with various ADAS features including lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring system, where all essential data can be displayed via a 55-inch augmented reality (AR) head-up screen.

Interested customers can place a reservation deposit of RM5,000 and any inquiries can be directed to Lotus Cars Malaysia at 016-611 2388.

Other options include side cameras and an active rear spoiler that further enhances the driving experience of the Eletre.

As standard, the Lotus Eletre is equipped with ADAS safety features including smart adaptive cruise control (ACC), driver monitoring system, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), front cross-traffic alert (FCTA), lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring system, and parking assistance.

There are up to five driving modes included, namely Range, Tour, Sport, Off-Road, and Individual (in addition to Track for the Eletre R), assisted by Lotus’ smart dynamic chassis control.

The Lotus Eletre also comes with a 1,380-watt premium KEF audio system accompanied by 15 speakers, Uni-Q™ technology, and three-dimensional sound control.

For the Malaysian market, buyers can choose from two new colors, Akoya White and Cinnabar Red, as well as other colors including Kaimu Grey, Solar Yellow, Natron Red, Galloway Green, Stellar Black, and Blossom Grey.

Each Eletre is covered by a five-year/150,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and an eight-year or up to 200,000 km battery warranty.
