GWM Malaysia has announced plans to launch up to six new models for the Malaysian market.
This was revealed during the recent Annual Appreciation Night with the Media held in Kuala Lumpur.
GWM Malaysia’s Performance in 2025
In the past year, GWM recorded sales of nearly 5,900 vehicles.
This represents a year-on-year growth rate of 177 percent, indicating strong acceptance for its product lineup and effective market approach in Malaysia.
Annual Target of 60,000 Units by 2028
The six new models set to hit the Malaysian market include:
Tank 300 HEV
Two B-segment SUVs
Two C-segment SUVs
A luxury C-segment SUV
By the year 2028, GWM aims to achieve a 6% market share with annual sales of 60,000 units.
The brand also aims to be among the top 10 automotive brands in Malaysia and the top three Chinese brands.
Technology as GWM’s Main Focus
GWM is placing a strong emphasis on technology, powered by the smart hybrid Hi4 system introduced in the Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV.
In addition to the Hi4 system, GWM will adopt a multi-powertrain approach by offering internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options across its portfolio consisting of Haval, Tank, Ora, and Wey.
New Corporate Identity Starting 2026
In addition to product development, GWM is working to enhance and upgrade its dealership network and after-sales services.
With 60 dealers nationwide, GWM will introduce an improved corporate identity (CI) to set clear standards in its efforts to offer a more consistent and premium sales experience across its network.
After-sales service remains a key focus in gaining customer trust.
This commitment is supported by intensive technical training programs, 95% availability of spare parts throughout the country, and the GWM Care system to enhance customer satisfaction throughout ownership.
Malaysia as an Important ASEAN Hub
GWM is committed to local assembly and CKD operations, with aspirations to make Malaysia an important export hub in ASEAN.
This strategy supports the development of new energy vehicles (NEVs) through technology transfer and expands the export of high-value vehicles.
It also strengthens local energy capabilities through more comprehensive localization, advanced technical expertise, and ongoing talent development.
Focus on Building a Resilient Brand
Mr. Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia, explained that their focus is on building a long-term automotive brand in the market.
“We compete through engineering excellence, intelligent platforms, advanced safety technologies, and stronger products that deliver long-term value.
“This is supported by a growing nationwide network. This disciplined approach lays a solid foundation for sustainable growth and enduring customer trust.”
“The growth we achieved in 2025 shows that we are building something meaningful and that we are on the right path. It reflects growing confidence in our products, our people, and the strength of our dealers, together with our aftersales capabilities and ecosystem.
“Looking ahead, our focus is on translating this momentum into long-term value by putting the right foundations in place, so our growth is not only sustained but continues to strengthen the brand in the years ahead,” he added.
Amidst the influx of hybrid and electric models entering the Malaysian market, the GWM Haval H6 HEV has proven its prowess.
It is not just a newcomer but a leading choice trusted by 6,000 owners since its launch in October 2024.
This success places it as the second best-selling hybrid in the country, reflecting consumers’ confidence in the technology it brings.
With a price point of RM139,380, the Haval H6 HEV offers a balance of luxury, smart technology, and long-term value that is hard to match in its class.
Record of 6,000 Units!
The figure of 6,000 units is not just a sales statistic; it represents significant market acceptance, indicating that Malaysian consumers are now seeking tried-and-tested options.
As the market becomes increasingly crowded with various new Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), the Haval H6 HEV has transitioned from being a newcomer to a well-established hybrid choice.
This confidence is rooted in real-world performance, not just marketing promises, reassuring buyers that they are choosing an SUV that has been well-received by thousands of families across the nation.
Freedom of Travel Without Disruption to Lifestyle
What sets the Haval H6 HEV apart is its ability to adapt to the realities of driving in Malaysia without requiring a change in daily habits.
As a self-charging hybrid model, owners need not worry about charging schedules or seeking out charging stations, as it offers complete daily convenience.
The 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) technology ensures seamless and responsive power transitions between the petrol engine and electric motor.
This efficiency is evident, enabling a mileage of up to 1,000km on a full tank.
Moreover, this SUV set an ASEAN record with an extraordinary distance of 1,242km, making it an ideal companion for long journeys, such as trips back to the hometown, without the need for frequent refueling.
At the same time, the Haval H6 HEV continues to offer impressive performance with a maximum power output of 243 PS and torque of 530 Nm, delivering a robust, smooth, and responsive driving experience, even when fully loaded.
Premium Design and Family Comfort
The Haval H6 HEV is designed as a next-gen intelligent family SUV, combining iconic aesthetics with practical functionality.
Its exterior stands out with a rugged form, Signature Waterfall Intelligent LED headlights, and 19-inch alloy wheels that convey a confident style.
Inside the cabin, a panoramic sunroof creates an expansive ambiance, while ventilated front seats and a negative ion air purification system ensure passenger comfort and health.
For family logistics, the Haval H6 HEV offers a spacious boot with a capacity of 560 liters, ample for daily goods and travel bags.
When the rear seats are folded down, this capacity can expand to 1,485 liters, providing maximum flexibility to accommodate a variety of family needs, from daily shopping to long-distance travel.
Smart Technology and Comprehensive Safety
The Haval H6 HEV not only offers comfort but is also equipped with driving technologies that facilitate daily tasks.
Drivers benefit from a 10.25-inch digital meter, a Head-Up Display (HUD), and an infotainment system with a 12.3-inch screen, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
In terms of safety, the Haval H6 HEV features Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), providing added confidence to drivers and making every journey safer for the whole family.
Some of the included features are Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with automatic braking, Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD), acting as extra eyes while driving.
Additionally, a 360° camera with Transparent Chassis display and automatic parking assistance ensures that this SUV is easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces or busy urban areas.
Long-Term Value and Peace of Mind
GWM understands that for families in Malaysia, peace of mind is a top priority when investing in a vehicle.
As a sign of confidence in its technology’s durability, the Haval H6 HEV comes with a comprehensive 10-year warranty for the engine and HEV battery, an 8-year warranty for the hybrid system, and 5 years of free servicing.
This extensive warranty package, combined with a mileage of up to 1,000 km, proves that it is not just a marketing promise.
With a growing community of 6,000 owners, the Haval H6 HEV stands firm as a low-stress, proven, and trusted choice for the driving realities in Malaysia.

GWM Malaysia has achieved another significant milestone today with the delivery of the first Completely Knocked Down (CKD) model of the GWM WEY G9 to Thailand.
This initiative demonstrates GWM’s commitment to closer collaboration at the regional level, strengthening the capabilities of New Energy Vehicles (NEV), and developing a cross-border industry.
The delivery follows the successful local production of the WEY G9 in Malaysia and marks the next phase in GWM’s plan to establish a robust supply chain and manufacturing ecosystem in ASEAN.
The CKD export to Thailand also underscores GWM’s confidence in Malaysia’s ability to undertake high-value automotive assembly, technology transfer, and its future export potential.
This effort is expected to enhance the competitiveness of the local industry, develop vendors, and strengthen Malaysia’s position in GWM’s regional strategy.
According to Mr. Roslan Abdullah, Chief Operating Officer of GWM Malaysia, this CKD delivery reflects the solid foundation GWM is building in ASEAN.
“Malaysia is now playing a role as a strategic assembly hub supporting neighboring markets with more advanced new energy products while strengthening regional supply chain integration.”
Mr. Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, added, “The WEY G9 combines world-class engineering with local craftsmanship. The delivery to Thailand showcases Malaysia’s capacity to support GWM’s expansion in the region and marks the beginning of GWM’s long-term plan in new energy technology.”

GWM Malaysia has announced the availability of the Tank 500 Black Edition for the local market, with a selling price of RM336,800.
As its name suggests, the Tank 500 Black Edition features a glossy black finish on several parts, including the grille, Tank emblem, 20-inch rims, door handles, and spare tire housing.
The Tank 500 is also equipped with LED headlights that have a smoky effect.
The basic specifications of the Tank 500 remain unchanged, powered by a 2.0-liter hybrid engine producing a total power output of 346 PS and 648 Nm, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
In contrast to the Tank 500 Black Edition, the standard Tank 500 is priced at RM328,800.
GWM Malaysia has announced an update for the Haval H6 HEV hybrid SUV model, which is now offered with a Phantom Black interior finish.
To enhance the premium and sporty image, the interior also features a matte silver trim and the use of soft-touch materials.
According to GWM Malaysia, this change aligns with user feedback regarding the hybrid SUV model.
Additionally, GWM Malaysia is extending the warranty period for the Haval H6 HEV’s battery from eight to ten years, or mileage of up to one million kilometers (whichever comes first).
This warranty is also transferable to subsequent owners, providing peace of mind along with ensuring better resale value for owners.
As standard, the Haval H6 HEV comes with the following warranty packages:
Manufacturer’s warranty: 7 years/200,000 km
Engine warranty: 10 years/1,000,000 km
HEV battery warranty: 10 years/1,000,000 km
HEV system warranty: 8 years/1,000,000 km
Meanwhile, subsequent owners can enjoy the following protections:
Unchanged manufacturer’s warranty
Engine warranty: 7 years/200,000 km
Continuing battery warranty: 10 years/1,000,000 km
HEV system warranty: 8 years/200,000 km
There are no changes in specifications, as the Haval H6 HEV is still powered by a 1.5-liter hybrid engine producing a total power output of 243 PS and 530 Nm.
In the Malaysian market, the Haval H6 HEV is priced starting from RM139,800.
GWM Malaysia has announced the appointment of Roslan Abdullah as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO).
With over 30 years of experience in the Malaysian automotive industry, Roslan has played a vital role in transforming and strengthening the brand’s presence in the market, while also gaining customer trust.
Roslan’s appointment comes at a crucial time as GWM Malaysia accelerates its efforts to build a mobility ecosystem that supports the country’s transition towards smarter and greener transportation.
According to Roslan Abdullah, GWM now has the right formula to shape the future of mobility in Malaysia.
“My vision is to position GWM as a trusted long-term mobility partner through a strong and reliable dealer and service network, a product portfolio that meets the needs of the Malaysian people, and a strong commitment to providing a seamless ownership experience.”
Previously, Roslan held the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Proton.
Who would have thought that the off-road segment previously dominated by Japanese brands, is now being penetrated by the latest model from a Chinese manufacturer?
However, unlike typical off-road SUVs that come with diesel engines, the manufacturer from the mainland focuses on hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines.
The advantages? Smaller displacement engines that contribute to lower road taxes, and significantly more power and capability for tackling difficult terrains.
One of the manufacturers offering modern off-road solutions is GWM, through its full-size SUV, the Tank 500 HEV.
So, if you’re starting to feel bored with Japanese-made models, why not give the Tank 500 off-road SUV a try, which is now officially available in Malaysia?
Recently, we were invited by GWM Malaysia to test drive this luxury hybrid SUV from Bandar Elmina to Penang, and here are our initial impressions of the Tank 500 HEV:
Imposing Dimensions
On the road, the Tank 500 HEV resembles a group of foreign delegates visiting Malaysia, especially when driven in a convoy.
Unlike the Tank 300, which has a retro SUV appearance, the Tank 500 presents a more modern and sleek image with a body design free of extraneous lines.
When compared to its competitor (what else but the Land Cruiser?), the Tank 500 is slightly smaller in dimensions.
However, it still measures over five meters in length, thanks to the full-size spare tire compartment at the rear.
The rear door design is also non-typical for SUVs on the market, featuring side hinges with a soft close function.
The writer had no trouble acclimating to the aesthetics of this SUV, though it would be more visually appealing if most of the chrome elements were toned down.
Cabin Space with Old-School Elements
Frankly speaking, the writer is not a fan of dashboard layouts that prioritize cramming all functions into a display screen.
So, upon entering the Tank 500’s cabin, I was relieved to find that most functions can still be operated with physical buttons.
In addition to the air conditioning control buttons, there are also essential function buttons located on the center console, complete with a large gear knob.
In front of the driver, there’s a 12.3-inch display screen and a head-up display, while the center screen measures 14.6 inches with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
The front seats are wrapped in Nappa leather and come equipped with various comfort features (ventilation, massage, electronic adjustments).
To enhance the acoustic experience, the Tank 500 is equipped with an Infinity audio system featuring 12 speakers for perfectly tuned music.
Comfort in exiting the cabin is aided by side steps that automatically extend when the door is opened.
Passenger comfort is further enhanced by a three-zone automatic air conditioning system. Rear passengers enjoy a separate control panel along with four air vents to ensure cool air reaches them effectively.
One of my favorite features? The analog clock beneath the infotainment screen. It’s a small touch that elevates the cabin atmosphere, making it feel like a more premium vehicle.
The wood finishes in several areas contribute to a more luxurious experience for an SUV priced below RM400,000.
Passenger Experience
One aspect that enhances comfort during the journey in the Tank 500 is the NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) level, which is commendable for a ladder-frame SUV.
At moderately high cruising speeds, we found the cabin to be relatively quiet.
External wind noise is minimal, and there is less noise coming from the wheel arches.
As a passenger, I found that the Tank 500 offers ample head and legroom without making occupants feel cramped.
What about the third-row seating? I believe it is more suitable for children, or you can fold it down to access the 795-liter cargo space, which expands to 1,498 liters when the second-row seats are also folded down.
Smooth and Powerful Driving Experience, but…
As I took hold of the steering wheel, a few aspects challenged my initial perceptions.
First, the Tank 500 HEV is indeed stable and comfortable, even when driven at speeds exceeding the national limit on the highway.
Second, body control is predictable, despite the absence of sophisticated suspension.
Third, although this SUV is heavy, it does not feel sluggish.
The Tank 500 comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four hybrid engine (HEV).
On paper, the Tank 500 produces 346 PS and 648 Nm of torque, with power delivered to a four-wheel drive (4WD) system via a nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission (9HAT).
However, there is one important thing to note.
Unlike the HEV system in the Haval H6, which is designed for fuel efficiency, the hybrid setup in the Tank 500 acts more as a power enhancer to ensure this 2.5-ton vehicle moves smoothly.
There is no issue in getting moving from a standstill, but the Tank 500 feels somewhat lacking in power when I want that extra push to overtake heavy vehicles ahead.
Interestingly, that extra power tends to appear at the wrong moments—when the SUV is cruising serenely at speeds above the national limit.
I was not alone in noticing this; several other media colleagues shared similar sentiments.
It is not a major issue, but I would prefer if that additional power assistance kicked in at the right time.
On average, with a mixed driving pattern on the highway, we managed to record a fuel consumption rate of around 11.5 liters per 100 km.
Regarding handling, there are areas for improvement.
One is the steering response, and the second is the braking system, which at times makes it difficult for me to gauge the required braking biting point.
The Tank 500 HEV comes standard with a double-wishbone suspension in the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, without any sophisticated electronic adjustments.
Even with conventional settings, the suspension has been well-tuned for comfort and confidence over various road surfaces.
However, at times, the characteristics of a ladder-frame SUV are still noticeable, especially at lower speeds. This is something difficult to avoid, particularly for an SUV with this type of construction.
Hybrid SUV Ready for Off-Road Driving
Despite its various luxurious features, GWM does not shy away from equipping this SUV with multiple useful features and functionalities for off-road terrains.
These features include a low-range gearbox, three differential locks (front, center, and rear), tank-turn functionality, and off-road cruise control.
It is also capable of wading through water up to 800 mm deep. Perhaps one day we will share our off-road driving experience in the Tank 500.
Safety Features
Additionally, the Tank 500 is equipped with a host of advanced safety features, such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control (ACC), lane-keeping assistance, lane departure warning, traffic crossing warning, blind spot monitoring, and automatic parking systems.
There are also six airbags and two ISOFIX anchors for child seats.
The most useful feature for this full-size SUV is undoubtedly the 360-degree surround-view camera system, complete with a bonnet transparency function.
Conclusion
The GWM Tank 500 could be an alternative for those looking to stand out from the existing market options.
Based on our brief two-day drive, it is challenging to fully explore the potential of this SUV.
However, with its specifications and comprehensive manufacturer warranty, along with a selling price below RM350,000, the GWM Tank 500 is capable of delivering an experience you wouldn’t expect from a Chinese manufacturer in the past.
This is not a substandard product to scoff at. It is a GWM Tank 500.

Ora 07, or better known as Ora Lightning Cat in the international market, indeed brings a controversial design, reminiscent of the Porsche Panamera sedan and Porsche 911 models.
To place it on par with million-dollar models may be an unfair assessment.
Ora 07 is the second electric vehicle (EV) model introduced by GWM Malaysia after the cute Ora Good Cat hatchback, with a price offer below RM200,000 (RM169,800).
Compared to closest competitors like BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3, is the Ora 07 just an ordinary EV?
Based on a recent test drive experience, the definitive answer we can give is, “No!”
1. Feminine Design
BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3 present a more traditional sedan body design.
The Ora 07, on the other hand, is more reminiscent of the Porsche Panamera body, with a more tapered roof line, followed by a quite long body dimensions.
The rear also features an electrically powered adaptive spoiler that can be raised or lowered as needed, and the front lights, when viewed from any angle, resemble the 911.
Overall, this is not a negative aspect of the Ora 07. It is suitable for those with a feminine spirit and individuals looking for something different in the electric sedan segment.
However, the all-red rear light design may confuse road users and make it difficult to determine whether the signal is for turning or not.
2. Bugatti, Porsche Inspired Interior
Not content with just the exterior, the interior layout also draws much inspiration from famous models.
The high central console seems to take inspiration from Bugatti, while the front digital cluster screen clearly brings Porsche elements.
At the very least, the layout shown in this space is much better and more elegant compared to cars that simply place an iPad screen on the dashboard during development and then sell it to the public.
The writer particularly likes the design of the Ora 07’s digital cluster screen, it looks fresher.
However, the downside is that it does not come with theme options that match its round design. Moreover, there are no options for available analog meter graphics!
3. Easy to Operate, but Still Troublesome
One thing the writer appreciates about the Ora 07, apart from the support for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, is the presence of manual control buttons in the central area for the air conditioning system.
It offers controls for fan speed and cabin temperature. Easy to operate using muscle memory. However, that’s the only benefit provided.
There are no physical fan speed controls included on the air conditioning vent. This means that if you feel bothered by the cold air blowing into your nose, you will have to delve into additional menus for climate control on the infotainment screen.
Yes, the Ora 07 includes several types of air flow mode on the screen for use during the summer, but it’s not a feature that can make daily driving more pleasant.
Fortunately, the Ora 07 is equipped with an engaging 11-speaker Infinity audio system, so you can enjoy your favorite songs after fiddling with the climate control settings.
4. Comfortable Cabin, but…
The use of premium materials dominates the Ora 07’s cabin space. It looks luxurious.
The standard factory-installed sports seats also contribute to the comfort aspect, as do the quite cushy rear seats.
Apart from the long wheelbase, one thing that makes the space look more spacious is the fairly wide and elongated panoramic glass roof.
Because of this, rear passengers can enjoy more headroom. Just avoid long-distance travel for extended periods when the sun is directly overhead.
There are no switches available to open the glass panel structure, and no sunshades provided in that area to filter out the sunlight that can burn your hair.
5. Limited Cargo Space Access
This sedan offers a cargo space of 333 liters, sufficiently enough for daily use.
Although the Ora 07 comes standard with a fastback sedan body shape, it does not provide the ability to open the rear extensively like any other aeroback model.
The somewhat limited opening may make it difficult for you to load larger items.
Fortunately, the second-row seats can be folded, allowing you to place longer items in the rear.
Additionally, there are several small storage spaces available in the cabin, further enhancing the practical aspect of the Ora 07.
6. Masculine Driving Experience
As standard, the Ora 07 comes with a single powerful electric motor setting of 201 hp and 340 Nm that drives the front wheels.
The power is sufficient to propel the electric sedan in urban routes, with no issues of power shortage.
Aggressive acceleration can also be achieved in a manner that is quite smooth and seamless, without resulting in the usual power surge effect experienced in other electric cars.
What makes the writer excited about this electric sedan is the delightful driving experience package that is hard to find in any other electric car.
Despite featuring various feminine characteristics, the driving aspect of the Ora 07 is more masculine. It’s like a car with dual personalities.
For a moment, the writer completely forgot that the Ora 07 is a heavy electric sedan (2.5 tons) when testing its handling on winding roads.
The steering response is good enough to ensure the car stays on the right track, in addition to the chassis tuning and suspension system that make the driving experience of this electric sedan quite enjoyable on the winding roads of Negeri Sembilan.
Body roll is also felt at a minimum level, making the writer more enthusiastic to continue pressing the accelerator pedal every time a straight road is connected to a curve.
The use of Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tires also helps the sedan grip well on the asphalt surface.
Adding vibrancy to the Ora 07’s driving experience is the simulated sound of a fake engine that can be activated through the infotainment screen.
At the very least, it can satisfy your longing for the sound of an engine, and the writer believes this feature is way much better than the spaceship-like sound found in more expensive EV models.
There are several driving modes included that can be accessed through the central manual button, including the Well Being mode, which will deactivate the regenerative braking function and allow the car to continue coasting when the foot is removed from the accelerator pedal.
Like an ICE car, isn’t it?
7. Concerns about Range Anxiety?
We tested the Long Range variant paired with an 83.5 kWh battery pack.
According to NEDC data, the sedan can travel up to 640 km on a full charge, a figure that may be challenging but not impossible to achieve.
Based on our usage, we managed to record a driving range of 470 km before the battery reached 15 percent state of charge (SoC), with an estimated remaining range of about 102 km.
In our opinion, the Ora 07 is suitable for use as a daily commuter car or occasionally for intercity travel beyond two stages.
DC charging up to 88 kW allows the battery to be charged to 80 percent in just half an hour, meaning you won’t have to wait long if you need to undertake a long journey in the Ora 07.
8. Safety
As standard, the Ora 07 comes with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) Level 2, which includes several key functions such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, smart lane keeping, and lane centering assistance.
The adaptive cruise control feature proves effective when on the highway to maintain a safe driving distance.
However, the way the lane centering assistance operates on the other hand may be perceived as slightly aggressive, especially for those who are confident in their driving skills.
Conclusion
With a starting price of RM169,800, this Ora 07 Long Range could be an alternative electric sedan that caters to the preferences of buyers who seek something different and want to stand out from the norm.
Although it has some shortcomings, all those issues may fade away when you are able to enjoy the very satisfying driving experience this sedan offers.
Don’t believe it? Even now, the writer still can’t believe it!

A few days ago, GWM Malaysia invited us to experience firsthand driving an upcoming hybrid SUV, the Haval H6 HEV.
Priced at an estimated RM145,000, it may very well be a very worthwhile purchase for those looking for a fuel-efficient, spacious, and comfortable SUV for the whole family.
Let’s briefly discuss the specifications of the Haval H6 HEV SUV.
Starting with the powertrain unit, the Haval H6 HEV is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired with a single electric motor and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) with two-speed ratios.
The engine is capable of producing 150 PS/230 Nm, while the electric motor can generate an additional 130 PS/300 Nm of power.
Overall, the Haval H6 HEV boasts 243 PS of power and 530 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful in its class.
During a brief two-day drive across south borders that didn’t require a passport, the writer found that the power delivered by this SUV was consistent, especially when extra power was needed to overtake trucks ahead.
On paper, the 530 Nm figure might seem high, but during our drive, we didn’t feel any sudden surges of power that could cause neck discomfort.
This is because the power delivered when the accelerator pedal was pressed was smooth and seamless, unlike the aggression often experienced with most electric cars.
The hybrid system is also very efficient, as the writer and colleagues hardly felt the engine start-up process. There were no noticeable engine vibrations, and the engine noise was well-filtered from entering the cabin.
With a fuel consumption rate of around 5.8 liters/100 km, GWM claims that the Haval H6 HEV can cover a distance of up to 1,000 km on a full tank.
Perhaps we can test this further if given the opportunity to drive this SUV in the future.
The NVH aspect is also satisfactory, as we were able to chat comfortably inside the cabin without raising our voices or using a microphone.
The wind noise attempting to penetrate the cabin didn’t disrupt our conversation; only the tire noise was audible. This was partly due to the unsatisfactory quality of the tires used in some areas.
Equipped with a suspension system consisting of MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear, this SUV didn’t pose any significant handling or comfort issues.
For Malaysian highway networks, it offers a balanced suspension setup for slightly aggressive driving while maintaining comfort for the whole family.
Additionally, the body roll generated during cornering was acceptable, not making the SUV sway excessively.
In terms of dimensions, the Haval H6 HEV offers a much larger size compared to popular C-segment SUVs like the Honda CR-V and Proton X70.
The long wheelbase also contributes to a more spacious cabin to accommodate five people at a time.
Furthermore, the Haval H6 HEV provides a cargo space of 560 liters, or up to 1,485 liters when the second-row seats with a 60:40 ratio are folded.
The layout of the dashboard is quite neat, but the combination of three colors (black, white, and rose gold) may not be favored by some.
There is a 10.25-inch cluster screen (with somewhat limited theme options) and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
With a starting price below RM145,000, along with a package of specifications, the Haval H6 HEV could indeed be a very worthwhile purchase, especially for those who don’t have the budget to buy a hybrid SUV priced over RM200,000.
We will share more details and insights once given the opportunity to further test drive the Haval H6 HEV in the future.
Haval H6 HEV Specifications:
