Nissan Fairlady Z facelift debuts at 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon

The seventh-generation Nissan Z sports car (known as Fairlady Z in the Japanese market) made its debut in 2021, replacing the 370Z model.

After several years, Nissan has finally updated the Fairlady Z by introducing a facelift version at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon.

While there aren’t many changes, the facelifted Fairlady Z features a cleaner image compared to its predecessor, particularly with the all-new front bumper.

According to Nissan, the new bumper design not only focuses on aesthetics but also contributes to improved aerodynamic aspects by reducing front lift by 3.3 percent and drag by 1 percent.

Additionally, the Nissan emblem on the front has been replaced with a Z emblem, accompanied by two-tone alloy wheels.

Finally, Nissan has introduced a new color called Unryu Green, inspired by the Grand Prix Green from the S30 generation Z model.

For now, Nissan continues to utilize the original 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which produces 400 hp and 475 Nm of torque.

However, the driving and handling aspects have been enhanced with a revised suspension system featuring larger monotube dampers, as well as larger brakes.

The layout of the cabin remains unchanged, but for the facelift version, Nissan offers a tan trim option for the seats, door panels, and lower dashboard.

Customers in China will still have the option to purchase the Corolla facelift with a 2.0L petrol engine producing 169 hp or a 1.8L hybrid engine generating 121 hp.

2026 Lexus IS facelift unveils more aggressive look

The introduction of the 2026 IS model puts to rest most speculation that Lexus would launch a new generation of the IS.

This is because the 2026 IS is essentially the third facelift version, following two previous iterations introduced in 2017 and 2020.

The most noticeable change is at the front, where the spindle grille structure has been redesigned, and the Lexus logo has been repositioned to the top.

This redesign gives the front bumper a more aggressive appearance.

Additionally, the IS comes with new 19-inch alloy wheels, a large rear spoiler, and the word “LEXUS” is prominently displayed on the rear.

Inside the cabin, there is a 12.3-inch digital cluster screen, a central 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a more streamlined climate control panel, and bamboo fiber trim on the center console.

Lexus has also eliminated long-standing brand staples like the trackpad and the analog clock.

The Lexus Safety System+ has been improved with ADAS functionalities that allow for hands-free driving on the highway.

Other subtle changes include a more responsive Electric Power Steering (EPS) system and solenoid-type adaptive suspension for a more comfortable ride.

The 2026 Lexus IS is offered only in the IS 300h variant (2.5L hybrid engine with 217 hp) and IS 350 (3.5L V6 engine with 314 hp), while the IS 500 with its V8 engine is unlikely to remain in the lineup following the launch of the Climax Edition model recently.

2025 Hyundai Tucson facelift unveiled, launch on July 2

Another new model set to be officially launched by Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) next month is the C-segment SUV, the 2025 Tucson.

Unlike what was previously offered by Hyundai Sime Darby, the 2025 Hyundai Tucson is a facelift version that features several cosmetic changes.

Among these changes are the Parametric Jewel front grille, which conceals larger daytime running lights (DRL), newly designed rims, and a more angular front bumper.

More significant changes can be observed in the cabin, where the layout has been completely redesigned.

The 2025 Tucson facelift now features a more streamlined dashboard, complete with a twin 12.3-inch screen integrated into a single curved panel, a three-spoke steering wheel without the italic H logo, and a separate 6.6-inch panel for climate control.

The center console houses a wireless device charging slot and a larger storage compartment, thanks to the shift lever being relocated to the right side of the steering column.

Three variants of the Tucson are set to be launched: the Style, equipped with a 2.0-liter engine (156 PS/192 Nm); and the Prime and Prestige (4WD), powered by a 1.6-liter turbo engine (180 PS/264 Nm).

There is also a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid engine option delivering 235 PS/367 Nm, offered specifically for the Prestige HEV variant.

The Style and Prestige HEV variants come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the Prime and Prestige variants are equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

In terms of dimensions, the 2025 Tucson measures 4,640 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, 1,665 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,755 mm.

Further details, such as safety features and sale prices, will be officially announced at the launch event on July 2.

Mitsubishi Xpander facelift now features six airbags!

Mitsubishi has updated the offerings for its popular MPV model, the Xpander, for the Indonesian market.

There are no changes in terms of power, meaning the Xpander still retains its 1.5-liter MIVEC engine that generates 104 hp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 141 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

There is a choice of a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

However, there is one significant change: the standard version of the Xpander now comes with Active Yaw Control (AYC), which was previously reserved for the Xpander Cross model only.

In terms of exterior appearance, the Mitsubishi Xpander facelift features several minor changes.

For instance, the T-shaped headlights now have a smoked effect, followed by a grille structure enhanced with horizontal silver stripes and vertical openings at the bottom.

Additionally, both the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, while all four corners are fitted with new 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Xpander Cross variant, on the other hand, carries a more aggressive and rugged look, including an X-shaped grille panel design, sturdier-looking front and rear bumpers, and exclusive 17-inch wheel designs.

Inside the cabin, both the Xpander and Xpander Cross come with several updates, such as an eight-inch digital cluster screen and a ten-inch central screen complete with capacitive function buttons.

The second-row seats also feature an armrest in the center along with a bottle holder.

Moreover, the Xpander facelift now comes with six airbags, a highly welcomed change, although it is limited to the top variant.

In Indonesia, the Mitsubishi Xpander is priced starting from Rp 270,100,000 (RM70,642) to Rp 337,800,000 (RM88,348).

Meanwhile, the Xpander Cross is priced between Rp 338,000,000 (RM88,401) and Rp 364,200,000 (RM95,253).

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport launched for the European market

Toyota has introduced a facelifted version of the Corolla Cross in several Southeast Asian markets since last year.

However, for the European market, the SUV now comes with a much bolder appearance, especially for the GR Sport variant, which is being launched in the continent for the first time.

Starting with the standard version, this facelifted Corolla Cross features a redesigned bumper accompanied by a honeycomb grille structure.

Unlike models for other markets, the 2026 Corolla Cross is equipped with sharper graphic LED headlights, followed by the introduction of a horizontal LED light bar.

The taillights also feature new graphic designs, while all four wheel arches are adorned with new 18-inch rims.

Inside the cabin, there is a 10.5-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster screen, a larger center console featuring a new gear knob, and a faster wireless smartphone charger.

Additionally, Apple CarPlay support is also available.

Toyota promises a quieter ride, thanks to improvements made in sound insulation to reduce noise and vibrations.

The highest variant will come with ambient lighting, as well as heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

As mentioned, this is the first time Toyota has introduced the GR Sport variant for the Corolla Cross in Europe.

This bolder appearance is largely inspired by the bumpers of the GR Yaris and the facelifted GR Corolla.

In addition, the Corolla Cross GR Sport is also equipped with sportier 19-inch rims, a suspension that is 10 mm lower, as well as recalibrated power steering and the addition of paddle shifters as standard features.

Toyota adds a Sport Mode feature for quicker acceleration, along with a Snow Extra mode for improved control and stability during winter.

In Europe, the Corolla Cross will be available in Hybrid 140 or Hybrid 200 specifications.

The base Hybrid 140 features a 1.8-liter hybrid engine capable of producing 138 hp, while the Hybrid 200 variant comes with a 2.0-liter hybrid engine with a power output of up to 194 hp.
