BYD Malaysia plans to introduce its BYD Flash Charging ultra-fast charging technology in Malaysia, with the initial rollout focused on selected DENZA showrooms.

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), BYD Malaysia and Gentari will explore suitable locations and supporting infrastructure requirements, including PETRONAS stations and major intercity routes.

Installations at selected highway rest and service areas will also be explored as the network expands.

Charging from 10–70% in five minutes

Among the models supporting the technology is the DENZA Z9GT, which features a 122.49 kWh second-generation Blade Battery and a 1,000 V architecture.

According to BYD, the model can charge from:

• 10–70% in five minutes.
• 10–97% in nine minutes.

Existing BYD models can also use the infrastructure, although charging speeds will depend on each vehicle’s capabilities.

BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said the company is working towards introducing BYD Flash Charging in the near future. An operational launch date and the initial locations have yet to be announced.

DENZA Z9GT now available in Fjord Green

DENZA Malaysia has also introduced a new Fjord Green exterior colour for the Z9GT, joining the existing Rime Gold and Obsidian Black options.

The new colour can be viewed at all DENZA showrooms in Malaysia. Interior choices include Perg Beige, Red Velvet, or black with suede seats and yellow stitching.

Priced at RM358,800, the Z9GT is built on the e3 Platform, producing 1,156 PS and accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. It also features Compass Turn and Crab Walk functions.

More than 100 DENZA Z9GT units have been delivered to owners in Malaysia since its launch.
