BMW Malaysia launches facelifted 2025 electric SUV iX – prices starting from RM425,800

BMW Group Malaysia has launched the facelifted 2025 electric SUV iX for the local market, now available in two main variants: the iX xDrive45 Sport and the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro.

Here are some key facts you need to know:

 

1. Exterior Design

Compared to the previous model, the facelifted iX features several cosmetic changes.

These include a front grille with now-straight diagonal lines, larger openings on the side of the front bumper, and a slightly more aggressive rear bumper.

 

2. Variants

There are two main variants available: the iX xDrive45 Sport and the iX xDrive60 M Sport Pro.

The xDrive45 Sport variant comes equipped with 21-inch aerodynamic wheels finished in 1012 Bicolour 3D.

Meanwhile, the xDrive60 M Sport Pro features M 22-inch aerodynamic wheels with a 1025 M Multicolour 3D finish, red brake calipers, M Lights Shadowline, and an M Aerodynamics package.

Both variants come in a wide range of colors, including Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Arctic Race Blue, Aventurine Red, and Dune Grey.

Exclusive colors include Alpine White and Sophisto Grey, with interior color options of Atelier Oyster, Atelier Mocha, or Atelier Black for the xDrive45 variant.

The xDrive60 variant, on the other hand, is available in the exclusive M Carbon Black, with interior design color options of the Amido, Castanea, or M Sport Black/Atlas Grey suites.

 

3. Cabin Space

Both variants showcase features such as ambient lighting, a panoramic glass roof, a Harman Kardon 655-watt audio system with 18 speakers, and the BMW IconicSounds Electric sound system.

Additionally, there is a 4-zone automatic climate control system, wireless smart device charging storage, and emergency call support.

Exclusive to the M Sport Pro variant are the M emblem, M seats covered in Sensatec M/Alcantara, an M leather steering wheel, anthracite headliner, and Sensatec/Alcantara upholstery for the armrests and dashboard panel.

The cargo space is 500 liters and can expand to 1,750 liters.

 

4. Power

Both variants are equipped with a dual-motor setup and xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The xDrive45 Sport variant can generate 408 hp and 700 Nm of torque, achieving acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h.

Its 100.6 kWh battery allows the iX xDrive45 Sport to cover a range of 602 km and supports DC fast charging up to 175 kW.

With more powerful charging, the BMW iX xDrive45 Sport can add 166 km in just 10 minutes, or charge from 10% to 80% in 34 minutes.

The BMW iX xDrive60 M Sport, on the other hand, offers up to 544 hp and 765 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h.

With a 111.5 kWh battery, the xDrive60 can achieve a range of 701 km and supports DC fast charging up to 195 kW.

DC fast charging from 10% to 80% takes just 35 minutes, while adding 217 km takes only 10 minutes.

2025 BMW M340i xDrive M Sport Pro launched for Malaysian market – priced from RM388,800

BMW Malaysia has officially announced the BMW M340i xDrive M Sport Pro sedan as a complement to the existing 3 Series lineup.

The exterior of the M340i can be enhanced with color options such as Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Arctic Race Blue, or Brooklyn Grey, accompanied by 19-inch M alloy wheels and an M Aerodynamics package that includes a rear spoiler and dual exhaust tips.

Inside the cabin, buyers can choose between upholstery colors in Tacora Red or classic Black, sports seats with memory functions, and a curved panel featuring a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen powered by BMW Operating System 8.5.

Additionally, it comes equipped with special features such as M seatbelts, M Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite trim, an anthracite headliner, and a three-spoke M steering wheel with a 12 o’clock marker.

Other features include ambient lighting, a powered glass sunroof, and a Harman Kardon audio system delivering 464W of power through 16 speakers.

The BMW M340i xDrive is powered by a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbo engine that produces 387 hp and 500 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

With the xDrive all-wheel-drive system, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just about 4.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.

Driving performance is enhanced with an M adaptive suspension system, M differential, and variable sport steering system (VSS).

In terms of safety, the M340i is also equipped with advanced driver assistance features including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Active Cruise Control (ACC), and Parking Assistant Plus.

The BMW M340i xDrive M Sport Pro is priced starting from RM388,888, excluding service and repair packages (RM26,400).

BMW Malaysia officially launches four high-performance models – priced from RM650k

In addition to the launch of four locally assembled (CKD) models, BMW Malaysia has also unveiled four high-performance BMW M models with updated specifications.

The four models in question are the BMW M2, BMW M3 Competition M xDrive, BMW M4 Competition Coupe M xDrive, and the new BMW M5.

BMW Malaysia launches 218i Gran Coupe, X3 Final Edition

BMW Malaysia today introduced the Final Edition model for three of its locally assembled models, namely the 218i Gran Coupe, X3 sDrive20i, and X3 xDrive30e.

All three models retain the powertrain and M Sport package but gain sportier looks, alongside a more comprehensive equipment list.

For the 218i Gran Coupe Final Edition, the sedan’s appearance is now accentuated by the addition of Shadowline with Extended Contents and 18-inch M light alloy wheels Y-spoke 553 M Bicolour.

Furthermore, the cabin now features telephony with wireless charging and a 10-speaker HiFi loudspeaker system with 205W amplifier output.

Meanwhile, both the X3 sDrive20i Final Edition and the X3 xDrive30e Final Edition now come with M Lights Shadowline and M high-gloss Shadowline with extended contents. contents. Exclusive for the latter is the M Sport brake in red high-gloss.

Moving onto driving assistance systems, the two Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) are now equipped with Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go Function on top of their existing Driving Assistant.

The X3 xDrive30e Final Edition also gets the head-up display, as well as the Parking Assistant Plus, which gives it a 360-degree surround view camera and Remote View 3D.

For their Final Editions, both models now feature telephony with wireless charging.

In terms of colour availability, the 218i Gran Coupe Final Edition is available in exterior colours Skyscraper Grey, Black Sapphire and Alpine White, while the interior upholstery is available in Leather Dakota in Black with Blue highlights.

The X3 sDrive20i Final Edition and X3 xDrive30e Final Edition can be had in exterior colours Carbon Black, Alpine White and M Brooklyn Grey.

As for the interior upholstery options, the former is available in Leather Vernasca in Mocha with Décor stitching and Leather Vernasca in Black with Décor Stitching, while the latter is available in Leather Vernasca in Mocha with Décor stitching and Leather Vernasca in Black with Blue stitching.

The selling price of the 218i Gran Coupe Final Edition starts from RM223,800. Customers who opt for the Service & Repair Inclusive package will have to fork out an additional RM20,600.

Meanwhile, the X3 sDrive20i Final Edition and X3 xDrive30e Final Edition are each sold at RM311,800 and RM357,800, respectively. The Service & Repair Inclusive package for both variants is available for RM26,700.

Malaysia Autoshow 2024: BMW introduces i5 M60 and CKD 520i

BMW Malaysia has officially unveiled the latest additions to their fleet of premium sporty sedans, the all-new BMW i5 M60 xDrive and the new locally assembled 520i at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024.

BMW i5 M60 xDrive (RM480,000 est.)

The second i5 variant to be introduced here following the eDrive40, the i5 M60 xDrive being the sportier variant features two electric motors that drive all four wheels and deliver a total system output of 601 hp and 795 Nm.

With such power at its disposal, the i5 M60 xDrive accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 230 km/h.

Located in the underbody, the 83.9-kWh battery offers a range of up to 516 km based on the WLTP cycle.

Charging the battery from 0 to 80% state of charge takes 34 minutes via 205 kW DC fast charging, while a full charge using the 22 kW AC charging requires 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Styling-wise, the i5 M60 comes with the M Performance kidney grille accentuated by the BMW Iconic Glow, 21-inch aerodynamic wheels from the BMW individual line, as well as a host of M Sport Pro parts, including the M rear spoiler, M Lights Shadowline, M High Gloss Shadowline, and M Sport brakes in red high gloss.

The interior feels familiar thanks to the BMW Curved Display consisting a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, as well as the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, featuring 18 speakers and an amplifier output of 655 Watts.

BMW 520i (RM340,000 est.)

The exterior on the 520i features a similar design to the i5, showcasing a sleek and sporty exterior design language. Completing the looks are new 19-inch aerodynamic wheels in 934 bicolour grey.

Inside, you’ll find a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen that make up the BMW Curved Display.

There’s also the illuminated BMW Interaction Bar that enhances driving experience by simplifying control of the air conditioning and other functions.

As for driver assistance systems, the 520i is fitted with Active Cruise Control, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, to name a few.

BMW iX3 Final Edition launched in Malaysia – RM300k

BMW Malaysia recently unveiled the new BMW iX3 Final Edition, which comes with additional M Performance equipment complementing the M Sport package.

The automaker’s latest offering is built upon the Impressive trim and adds a host of M Performance equipment as standard, consisting of the carbon mirror caps, carbon fibre door sills, rear spoiler, as well as the Adaptive M suspension.

According to BMW, the newly equipped Adaptive M suspension with lifetime upgrade allows the driver to select between the standard comfortable setting or switch to Sport Mode for sportier handling.

The iX3 Final Edition will continue to feature standard equipment such as the 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels 890 M Bicolour, BMW Laserlight and panaromic glass roof.

Inside, there’s automatic air conditioning with three-zone control, electric sport seats for driver and front passenger, Harman Kardon surround sound system, head-up display and acoustic glazing.

Safety-wise, the electric crossover is equipped with Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Plus as standard.

Powering the rear wheels of the iX3 Final Edition is an electric motor that generates up to 286 hp (210 kW) and a peak torque of 400 Nm, which enables a century sprint of 6.8 second.

Thanks to a high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 80 kWh, it can cover a distance of 461 km (WLTP) in one full charge, while recording energy consumptions of as low as 18.5 kWh per 100 km of travel.

The iX3 Final Edition is available in six exterior colours, namely M Carbon Black Metallic, Cashmere Silver, Sophisto Grey, Mineral White, Phytonic Blue and Piemont Red.

Interior upholstery is available in either Leather Vernasca Mocha with Décor Stitching or Leather Vernasca Black with Blue Contrast Stitching.

Pricing starts from RM299,800. Customers can opt for the additional BMW Service & Repair Inclusive consisting of the five-year extended warranty and service package for RM19,800.

BMW iX2 open for pre-booking, priced from RM282,800

BMW Malaysia announced that the all-new BMW iX2 is now open for pre-booking. The electric Sports Activity Coupe is priced from RM282,800 on-the-road, without insurance.

For our market, the iX2 will be available in available in a sole xDrive30 variant, featuring a single electric motor on each axle.

The combination generates 313 PS (230 kW) including a 7 PS (5 kW) boost, allowing the electric crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 180 km/h.

The 66.5 kWh high-voltage battery in the vehicle floor generates a WLTP range of up to 449 km. An 11 kW AC charger enables the battery to be charged from 0 to 100% in 6 hours and 30 minutes, while the 130 kW DC charger requires only 29 minutes to do so.

The iX2 gets its rebellious appearance from the new BMW kidney grille with a black mesh grille and black high-gloss illuminated frame, as well as adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective Beam and vertically arranged light signature.

Flush door handles, the M high-gloss Shadow line package and V-spoke style 873 M Bicolour 20-inch M light alloy wheels complete the look.

Like other iX models, the iX2 interior features the BMW Curved Display powered by the BMW Operating System 9. It combines a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch control display.

The system features the BMW iDrive display and is equipped with BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and a control system with QuickSelect, which is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Other features include wireless charging tray with a built-in cooling system, front armrest with integrated control panel, automatic tailgate, and Harman Kardon Hi-Fi audio system.

There are also sport seats for the driver and front passenger, a 40:20:40 rear seat configuration, and a leather-wrapped multifunction M steering wheel.

According to BMW, the iX2 combines sportiness and comfort through upgraded stabilizer bearings on the front and rear axle, anti-roll bars, M adaptive suspension system, M Sport steering, and M Sport brake system.

As for driving assistance systems, the iX2 offers features such as Active Guard Basis, Driving Assistant Plus, and Parking Assistant Plus, including the Attentiveness Assistant.

The iX2 xDrive30 is available in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Skyscraper Grey, Cape York Green, Fire Red, M Portimau Blue, and M Brooklyn Grey.

For the interior, customers can opt for the Veganza leather-alternative in M Alcantara (black) with blue stitching, Perforated Black, Perforated Coral Red/Black, Perforated Atlas Grey/Smoke White, and Perforated Mocha.

Customers can also purchase the Inclusive BMW Service & Repair package, which includes a five-year extenderd warranty and service, at RM14,200.

BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport now comes with 22 kW AC charger – RM400k

In November last year, the BMW i5 made its debut in Malaysia in the eDrive40 M Sport version. Now, just four months after its arrival, the electric sedan has been upgraded with enhanced charging capabilities and several new features.

The i5 now comes with a 22 kW AC charger that requires less than four hours and 15 minutes for a full charge, which is a whopping four hours faster than the previous 11 kW AC charger.

Continues to be equipped is a high-power 205 kW DC charger, capable of charging the battery from 0 to 80% in just 34 minutes.

The i5 eDrive40 features a single electric motor on the rear axle generating 313 hp and 400 Nm. In Sport Boost, the output is cranked up to 340 hp and 430 Nm, propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and onwards to a maximum speed of 193 km/h.

The driving range remains at 582 km based on the WLTP cycle, with electric power supplied by an 89.3 kWh capacity battery located in the underbody.

The i5 exterior highlights include vertical LED strips adorning its headlights, “Sharknose” design kidney grille, BMW Iconic Glow contour lines, as well as an M high-gloss Shadowline package to complete the look.

Available exterior colours include the Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Brooklyn Grey Metallic, and Phytonic Blue Metallic.

Additionally, the i5 eDrive40 M Sport now arrives in four new striking colour options, namely, Sophisto Grey Metallic, Oxide Grey Metallic, Cape York Green Metallic, and Fire Red Metallic.

The interior features the BMW Curved Display consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, both powered by BMW Operating System 8.5.

You’ll also find BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Maps, Digital Key Plus, and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system boasting an amplifier output of 655W and 18 speakers.

For the upholstery, customers can choose from Leather Merino Black, Leather Merino Copper Brown and Leather Merino Silverstone.

The i5 is fitted with an array of advanced safety and driver support features, which include Proactive Care, Driving Assistance Professional, Speed Limit Assist, route control and active navigation guidance, Side Collision Protection, Road Priority Warning and Wrong-way Warning, Crossing-traffic Warning with braking function.

Pricing-wise, the upgraded i5 eDrive40 M Sport starts at RM399,800. The additional 5-Year Extended Warranty and Service Package is available at RM20,300.

BMW iX now available in xDrive50 Sport and M60 variants, from RM466k

BMW Malaysia has announced updates to the BMW iX range for the model year 2024.

Starting now, the fully electric SUV will be offered in only two variants, namely the xDrive50 Sport and M60. This means that the xDrive40 and xDrive40 Sport variants have been discontinued.

With this update, the iX xDrive50 Sport follows in the footstep of the M60 by gaining a 22 kW AC charging, which is capable of reducing the charging time to under 5 hours 30 minutes for a complete 0 to 100% charge.

Additionally, both variants continue to offer fast charging capabilities of up to 195 kW, allowing for 0-80% charging in just 35 minutes.

In addition to faster charging, the xDrive50 Sport variant also gets the dual-axle air suspension system that absorbs road imperfections with precision for a more refined driving experience. The BMW Iconic Sounds Electric is also included as a standard feature.

There are no changes in terms of performance and driving range. The iX xDrive50 Sport, with its 523 hp/765 Nm twin-motor setup, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The WLTP cycle-based driving range is 630 km.

Meanwhile, the iX M60 also features twin electric motors but with a significantly higher output of 619 hp/1,015 Nm (1,100 Nm with Launch Control). It takes 3.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h and can cover a distance of up to 561 km on a full charge.

The iX’s cabin now features the Live Cockpit Professional powered by BMW Operating System 8.5, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 14.9-inch central screen, multifunction seats, wireless charging, and four-zone automatic air conditioning.

However, the previously available Bower & Wilkins Diamond audio system with 30 speakers, which was present in the M60, seems to have been replaced with the Harman Kardon audio system featuring 18 speakers.

Another standard feature included in this update is the Comfort Access, now featuring BMW Digital Key Plus. This digital key can be shared with up to five compatible devices allowing for convenience to the ownership experience.

For colour options, the iX is available in Alpine White, Mineral White Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Sophisto Grey Metallic with Brilliant Effect, Phytonic Blue Metallic, Oxide Grey Metallic, and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic.

For an additional RM6,200, customers can opt for the Aventurine Red Metallic and Individual Storm Bay Metallic shades.

For the interior, BMW Malaysia offers the Interior Design Atelier upholstery in Mocha or Black as standard. Two additional colours, Amido and Castanea, are available for an additional RM17,300.

The starting price is RM465,800 for the xDrive50 Sport variant and RM579,800 for the M60. A five-year extended warranty and service package are available for RM33,200.

BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport facelift previewed in Malaysia

BMW Malaysia recently previewed the facelifted fourth-generation BMW X5, which will be offered here in the xDrive50e variant together with the M Sport package as standard.

Looks wise, the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) now appears sharper with redesigned front lights that are 35 mm slimmer than before, a new LED daytime running light signature, M Sport body kit as well as 21-inch M alloy rims to complete the look.

Inside, there’s a 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display powered by BMW Operating System 8.5, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, iDrive Controller with voice, touch or the optional Gesture Control, ambient Light Bar with crystalline surface structure, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

The centre console in the new X5 features a restructured layout and additional touch-sensitive function keys, with gear changes now executed using a rocker switch. Other creature comforts includ BMW Comfort Access, Driving Assistant Professional, and Parking Assistant Professional.

Like the xDrive45e variant that was offered previously, the X5 xDrive50e continues to be powered by the 3.0-litre inline-six cylinder engine combined with an electric motor, but the plug-in hybrid powertrain is now more potent with a total system output of produces 489 PS and 700 Nm, an increase of 95 PS and 100 Nm.

In addition to higher system output, the electric driving range has also increased to 110 km (WLTP cycle), while the charging can now handle up to 7.4 kW, allowing the vehicle to be charged from 0 to 100% in 4.5 hours.

The X5 xDrive50e M Sport will be offered in four exterior colors, namely Black Sapphire, Manhattan, Mineral White, and Skyscraper Grey. For the interior, customers get a Merino leather upholstery in Black or Tartufo.

Official pricing for the X5 xDrive50e have not been announced yet but according to BMW Malaysia, it is estimated to retail for RM530,000.
