Proton has announced S70 RS as the official name of its updated sedan for 2027.

The sporty sedan is set to be launched, with pricing to be officially announced at a later date.

Exterior and cabin design

RS stands for Refined Sportiness.

Under the theme “Performance with Style”, the model features a bolder appearance, a sporty cabin and improvements to its driving dynamics.

Exterior changes include:

• A new grille and front bumper with red accents.
• Sporty side skirts.
• 17-inch alloy wheels and red brake callipers.
• A new rear bumper with a diffuser and quad exhaust-style trim.

The cabin receives a two-tone finish with red accents, a floating centre console and ambient lighting.

Also included are a Commander Dial and a steering column-mounted gear selector for easier access to key controls.

Turbocharged engine remains unchanged

The Proton S70 RS retains its 1.5-litre turbocharged i-GT engine, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), producing 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque.

This combination enables it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.

October 2026 sales performance

The Proton S70 recorded sales of 5,367 units in October, bringing its cumulative sales for the first 10 months of the year to 26,076 units.

Turbocharged variants accounted for 3,029 units, while the S70 i-GT Lite and Prime variants recorded sales of 2,338 units.
