Within just two weeks of its official debut, UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has secured 2,298 bookings for the 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross. This overwhelming response highlights the SUV’s broad appeal across diverse customer segments, including many first-time Toyota buyers.

The B-segment SUV, which is locally assembled (CKD) at Toyota’s Bukit Raja plant, is priced starting from RM99,900.

April 2026 Sales Performance

UMWT reported a strong performance for the month of April, recording 6,464 units sold. This brings the company’s year-to-date (YTD) total to 21,924 units.

As Malaysia’s energy and mobility landscape evolves, UMWT continues to strengthen its electrification strategy through a “Multi-pathway” approach. This strategy is designed to offer practical and accessible mobility solutions tailored to the diverse needs of modern consumers.

Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMWT, stated: “At Toyota, we recognize that the mobility requirements of every Malaysian are unique. Our Multi-Pathway approach allows us to provide more practical, accessible options that align with our customers’ readiness for new technologies.”

To support this vision, UMWT offers an extensive lineup of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), including the Yaris Cross HEV, Vios HEV, Corolla Cross HEV, and Camry HEV. The brand’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) portfolio is equally robust, featuring the bZ4X, Urban Cruiser BEV, and the Hilux BEV.

Toyota Extra Mile & Toyota MY App Campaigns

In tandem with the sales success, UMWT has launched the “Toyota Extra Mile” campaign and the Toyota MY App promotion, running from April through June 2026. The Extra Mile initiative focuses on providing rewards, protection, convenience, and peace of mind throughout the entire ownership journey.

Under the digital campaign, users will receive 500 Loyal-T Points upon registration and an additional 500 points when booking a service via the app. These points can be redeemed for service vouchers, adding further value to future vehicle maintenance.

For the month of May, Toyota is offering attractive promotional packages on selected models, with monthly installments starting as low as RM746 and flexible financing options to suit various budgets.
