APMC 2026: Nabil Azlan wins gold in Assetto Corsa category

Nabil Azlan did Malaysia proud by winning gold in the Assetto Corsa category at the recent Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship 2026 (APMC 2026).

The 24-year-old won both his quarterfinal and semifinal races before securing victory in the final.

The result improves on his silver medal in the iRacing category at the 2025 edition and continues Malaysia’s gold medal streak since the championship began in 2023.

Iqbal Suji makes his debut

Fellow Malaysian Assetto Corsa competitor Iqbal Suji also reached the final, finishing sixth overall.

It was an encouraging result for the 28-year-old on his APMC debut.

Mixed fortunes for Malaysia’s iRacing representatives

In the iRacing category, Raja Amirul Syauqat, 22, reached the final and started seventh on the grid.

However, a collision involving an Australian competitor dropped him down the field, and he eventually finished ninth.

Ethen Low’s campaign ended in the semifinals.

At just 16, the youngest competitor in the esports discipline gained valuable experience racing against the region’s top sim racers.

All four Malaysian racers received support from Esports Integrated (ESI) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) through the Malaysia Esports Accelerator Programme (MEAP).
