DHAS recognised by Malaysia Book of Records for smart vehicle tracking system

DRB-HICOM Auto Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (DHAS) has been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for having the “Largest Implementation of In-Plant Smart Vehicle Tracking System” for its DHAS Vehicle Tracking System (DVTS), marking a significant milestone in the Company’s digitalisation efforts to improve operational efficiency.

The homegrown DVTS uses Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN), GPS-enabled tracking devices, geofencing and centralised digital monitoring to provide greater visibility of vehicle locations and movements in its yards.

The system has reduced the reliance on manual tracking, enabled faster vehicle identification, and improved the accuracy of vehicle movement records, resulting in faster vehicle deliveries to customers.

The system has been deployed at DHAS’ Vehicle Processing Centre yards at the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) in Pulau Indah, Selangor, and Pekan, Pahang.

At PKFZ, which covers an area of approximately 33 acres or about 80 football fields, DVTS supports the monitoring and coordination of vehicles across designated zones, such as vehicle receiving, storage, processing and delivery.

DVTS also provides dashboards, reporting, and analytics to support resource planning, operational decision-making and service delivery.

The implementation of DVTS is part of DHAS’ ongoing digitalisation efforts to strengthen its automotive logistics capabilities. DHAS will continue to explore automation and integrated digital solutions to improve operational efficiency and meet the evolving needs of its customers.
