2026 BMW R 1300 GS now equipped with Automated Shift Assistant, priced from RM145,000
BMW Motorrad Malaysia has introduced the 2026 BMW R 1300 GS, now enhanced with the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) system.
This adventure‑touring motorcycle is priced at RM145,000.
Smoother Gear Changes
The ASA feature allows riders to perform gear changes either manually or fully automatically.
Two modes are available:
- M Mode – riders can shift gears manually, while clutch control is managed automatically.
- D Mode – gear changes are performed automatically based on current riding speed.
By simplifying gear‑shifting operations, ASA delivers a more comfortable riding experience without compromising the dynamic character of the BMW R 1300 GS.
ASA is part of the enhanced Dynamic Package, which also includes:
- Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA)
- Gear Shift Assistant Pro
- Riding Modes Pro
- Sports brakes
Additional Packages
Beyond the Dynamic Package, BMW Motorrad Malaysia also offers two optional packages: Touring Package and Comfort Package.
The Touring Package includes a GPS module, central locking system, additional hand guards, and side‑bag mounts for both left and right panniers.
The Comfort Package features a passenger kit, electrically adjustable windscreen, and a centre stand.
Standard equipment includes adaptive ride height adjustment, Deluxe headlight, and the lightweight M battery.
Engine
The R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300 cc two‑cylinder boxer engine producing 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
Colours
The BMW R 1300 GS ASA is available in White Aluminium Metallic and Black Storm Metallic.
