GWM Malaysia records best H1 2026 performance, targets strong momentum toward year-end

GWM Malaysia has announced its strongest performance to date for the first half of 2026.

Across the first six months, the company delivered 3,166 units, marking a 42.4% year‑on‑year increase.

Sales momentum strengthened significantly from 1,294 units in Q1 to 1,872 units in Q2, representing 44.7% growth quarter‑on‑quarter.

Haval H6 HEV Leads Sales

Among the total, the Haval H6 HEV recorded the highest sales, rising from 656 units to 895 units.

The Wey G9 Hi4 PHEV also posted strong growth, increasing from 421 units in Q1 to 707 units in Q2, reinforcing its position as Malaysia’s best‑selling luxury MPV.

Meanwhile, the Ora Good Cat EV nearly doubled its quarterly sales, achieving 93% quarter‑on‑quarter growth.

Positive Outlook for Year-End

GWM Malaysia expects positive momentum to continue towards the end of 2026.

This confidence is driven by rising consumer acceptance of hybrid technology and an expanding model portfolio.

The company also welcomes the government’s decision to postpone the implementation of PUA 402, along with improvements to the Hire Purchase Act, which are expected to strengthen consumer confidence and support a healthier automotive ecosystem.

Partnership With Touch ‘n Go

GWM Malaysia has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Touch ‘n Go to enhance the vehicle ownership experience.

Under this collaboration, every new GWM vehicle registered from 1 August 2026 will come equipped with a Touch ‘n Go x GWM RFID tag as standard.

This convenience allows customers to enjoy smoother and easier toll payments from the very first day of ownership.

The programme applies only to vehicle registrations in Peninsular Malaysia.

Merdeka Promotions

In conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day, GWM is launching a campaign running from 1 August to 30 September 2026.

Customers who book a new vehicle during this period and complete registration by 30 September 2026 will be eligible to participate.

Six lucky customers stand a chance to win toll rebates worth up to RM1,000.

For a limited time, buyers can also enjoy savings of up to RM30,000 on selected models throughout August.

Additionally, GWM will hold preview sessions for the upcoming Ora 5 HEV at selected dealerships nationwide.
