EICMA 2025: Suzuki SV-7GX Introduced, The New 650cc V-Twin Crossover
Suzuki has unveiled its latest model, the SV-7GX, at EICMA. It is designed to fill the mid-range sport crossover segment by combining the proven V-twin SV650 engine platform with touring comfort and a design language inspired by the GSX-S1000GX.
Concept and Engine
The SV-7GX was developed to offer crossover-class versatility to a broader market while retaining the distinctive personality of the venerable V-twin engine. It is built upon the reliable SV650 platform and utilizes an updated engine to comply with new emission standards.
645cc V-Twin Engine Data
The 90-degree V-twin, four-stroke, two-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine has undergone a thorough technical revision.
The enhancements involve components such as a new magneto, new transmission gears, a new airbox, and a new exhaust system. This engine is the same unit used in the beloved SV650 and V-Strom 650 models, but is updated to meet Euro 5+ standards and features a ride-by-wire throttle.

Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.)
The new electronic ride-by-wire throttle system is the cornerstone of the S.I.R.S. suite, which provides control for all other advanced systems.
- Bi-directional Quickshifter: Fitted as standard for smooth clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
- Riding Modes: Three selectable riding modes (known as Throttle Maps) to optimize performance for various situations:
- Mode A: Most aggressive (Sport).
- Mode B: Normal road riding (Road).
- Mode C: Rain mode, with power restricted to 60 PS.
- Traction Control: Can be adjusted to three selectable levels or turned completely OFF.
- Display Screen: A 4.2-inch full-color TFT-LCD screen provides all riding information.
- Connectivity: The TFT screen supports smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access maps, contacts, and messages, in addition to turn-by-turn navigation.
- Charging Convenience: A USB-C charging port is provided on the left side.

- Frame: A steel trellis frame provides a balance between rigidity and comfort.
- Suspension: Utilizes components from KYB.
- Front: 41 mm telescopic fork with 125 mm of travel.
- Rear: Link type monoshock with preload adjustment only, and 129 mm of travel.
- Brakes: Equipped with two-channel ABS as standard.
- Front: Dual 290 mm floating discs with four-piston Tokico calipers.
- Rear: Single 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper.
- Wheels and Tires: Features 17-inch cast aluminium wheels front and rear, fitted with road-oriented Pirelli Angel GT 2 tires.
