2025 Proton X50 becomes the first Proton with RFID tag straight from the factory

Launched on 24 July to strong market acceptance, the all-new Proton X50 has achieved instant success with 2,000 units delivered to customers

Proton has announced a strategic partnership with Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd to integrate RFID technology directly into the 2025 Proton X50 SUV model.

Under this new agreement, each new Proton X50 will be equipped with an RFID tag directly from the factory, allowing for smoother access to Malaysia’s RFID-enabled highway network.

According to Zhang Qiang, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar, “Through our collaboration with Touch ‘n Go, Proton is introducing another new feature that aligns with the slogan of this model – Intelligence That Amazes.”

In addition to the X50, Proton also plans to expand the installation of Touch ‘n Go RFID tags in other vehicle models.

Officially launched on July 24, the 2025 Proton X50 features significant changes in exterior and interior design, the latest connectivity technologies, and a powerful 1.5-liter turbo engine.

In the three weeks following its launch, 2,000 units have already been delivered to their respective owners.
