MODA Sporter-S maxi scooter officially launched – RM17,888

Mdua Motor Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of AFY Mobility Industries (AMI), has today launched a new local motorcycle brand known as MODA.

The first product from MODA to be launched in the local market is the Sporter-S maxi scooter, which is priced at RM17,888.

Available in Sporty Red and Meteor Grey, the Sporter-S is powered by a single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 250 cc, featuring Bosch’s electronic fuel injection (EFI) technology.

As a result, the engine is capable of producing 24.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 22.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm, while complying with Euro 4 emissions standards.

The scooter has a wheelbase of 1,538 mm and a ground clearance of 165 mm, and tips the scale at 186 kg. The fuel is stored in a sizeable 13-litre tank.

Features-wise, the Sporter-S comes equipped with LED lights at the front and rear, an adjustable windscreen, folding side mirrors, and a 10-litre under-seat storage compartment.

Additionally, it includes a 6.2-inch colour TFT display with connectivity via Bluetooth or the brand’s Carbit Ride app, a USB charging port, and a Keyless Smart Key system.

As for suspension, the Sporter-S features upside-down (USD) forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking power is courtesy of dual 260 mm disc brakes at the front and a single 240 mm disc brake at the rear.

Also included are dual-channel ABS and a Traction Control System (TCS), which ensure stability while cornering.
