2026 TQ Wuling Porta EV officially launches in Malaysia – estimated price from RM99,800

TQ Wuling has officially launched the 2026 TQ Wuling Porta EV electric commercial van for the Malaysian market.

Two variants are being offered with the following estimated prices:

  • 300 km variant – RM99,800 (estimated)
  • 400 km variant – RM105,800

Early customers will receive an early-bird package that includes:

  • Free 7 kW wall charger (worth RM3,500)
  • Free 3-pin EV charger
  • Free 3-year/60,000 km maintenance package

Dimensions

The panel van measures 5,010 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, 1,975 mm in height (1,960 mm for the 300 km variant), and has a wheelbase of 3,050 mm.

Key highlights of the Porta EV include:

  • Maximum payload capacity of up to 1,105 kg for the 400 km variant
  • 777 mm-wide sliding side door
  • Rear barn doors with an opening angle of up to 270 degrees
  • Low loading height of 595 mm
  • Monocoque body structure made from 83% ultra-high-strength steel

The wide rear door opening allows cargo to be loaded directly using a forklift.

Cargo space measures 2,830 mm in length, 1,680 mm in width, and 1,365 mm in height, providing a cargo volume of up to 6,500 litres.

As a result, it is capable of accommodating standard pallets measuring 1,100 x 1,100 mm.

Powertrain

The Porta EV is powered by a single silicon carbide (SiC) electric motor producing 101 hp and 180 Nm of torque.

The 300 km variant is equipped with a 41.9 kWh battery pack, while the 400 km variant features a larger 56.2 kWh battery.

Wuling’s Magic EV Battery supports:

  • AC charging from 20% to 80% in 5.15 hours
  • DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in as little as 20 minutes

Cabin

The van features a simple and functional cabin layout equipped with:

  • Analogue instrument cluster
  • 3.5-inch TFT display
  • 8-inch infotainment system
  • Four-way manually adjustable seats

Safety Features

As standard, the Porta EV comes equipped with:

  • Dual airbags
  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Traction Control System (TCS)
  • Hill Start Assist (HSA)

It also includes a low-speed pedestrian warning system.

Warranty

The Porta EV is covered by the following warranty packages:

  • Vehicle warranty: 5 years or 120,000 km
  • Drive motor, battery and BMS warranty: 5 years or 200,000 km
  • EV battery cell warranty: 6 years or 300,000 km

According to TQ Wuling, the Porta EV is designed to reduce maintenance costs by nearly 65% compared to a diesel-powered commercial van.

This is expected to help businesses manage long-term fleet operating expenses more effectively.

Tan Chong Motor Group & SGMW sign EV battery localisation partnership in Malaysia

Tan Chong Motor Group and SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) have signed a new agreement to strengthen efforts to localise EV battery production in Malaysia under the TQ brand.

The agreement was formalised at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) in Nanning, in line with the launch of SGMW’s Global 5 Strategy.

The partnership focuses on developing a local supply chain, beginning with EV battery localisation and CKD assembly. It also supports SGMW’s expansion of production capabilities across ASEAN.

The agreement was signed by Liu Zhijun from SGMW and Wan Wei Sun from TQ WULING.

This initiative reinforces the existing collaboration between both companies, while enhancing Malaysia’s capabilities in the new energy vehicle sector and strengthening customer confidence in the brand’s long-term commitment.

SGMW has recorded over 32 million units in global production and sales, including four million new energy vehicles.

Under the Global 5 Strategy, SGMW aims to build a comprehensive global automotive ecosystem covering manufacturing, technology, supply chains and industrial cooperation.

The partnership with Tan Chong Motor Group marks an important step in strengthening SGMW’s presence in ASEAN, while driving green automotive development and regional EV supply-chain growth.

Both companies will continue exploring opportunities to expand localisation and strengthen Malaysia’s position within SGMW’s ASEAN and global ecosystem.

TQ Wuling offers special Malaysia Day pricing for the Bingo EV, starting from RM56,800

TQ Wuling is introducing a special promotion for the Bingo EV in conjunction with the upcoming Malaysia Day celebrations.

The latest campaign offers additional savings of up to RM6,000 along with a range of ownership benefits throughout the month of September.

With a RM4,000 rebate and an RM2,000 insurance rebate, the Bingo EV Pro variant is now priced from RM56,800.

Meanwhile, the Max variant is offered at RM63,800 after a RM2,000 rebate and an RM2,000 insurance rebate.

Customers will also receive a complimentary portable EV charger, while buyers of the Max variant will get an additional 7kW wallbox charger.

The Bingo EV is powered by a 68 PS/150 Nm electric motor, delivering up to 410 km of driving range (333 km for the Pro variant).

Its 50 kW DC fast charging capability enables the battery to be charged from 30% to 80% in under 35 minutes.

The EV is backed by an 8‑year/160,000 km drive motor warranty, an 8‑year/120,000 km EV battery warranty, and a 5‑year/150,000 km vehicle warranty.

TQ Wuling Bingo EV now equipped with ADAS as standard feature

TQ Wuling recently achieved a significant milestone with the delivery of the first batch of CKD Bingo EVs to customers in Malaysia.

This marks the brand’s transition from the introduction phase to actual ownership.

According to Wan Wei Sun, Business Head of TQ Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, “This moment is more than just delivering vehicles; it represents trust, confidence, and the beginning of many more ownership journeys.”

TQ Wuling begins local assembly of Bingo EV in Malaysia

TQ Wuling has announced the commencement of its local assembly program (CKD) for the TQ Wuling Bingo EV in Malaysia.

This compact electric hatchback will be assembled at the factory owned by Tan Chong Group, located in Segambut.

This collaboration combines global EV expertise from SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) with Tan Chong Group’s extensive experience in local manufacturing to ensure international quality tailored specifically for the Malaysian market.

According to Wan Wei Sun, the CEO of TQ Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, “The start of local assembly for the TQ Wuling Bingo EV is not merely the launch of a model, but reflects our long-term investment and confidence in Malaysia as a key market and production hub.

2026 TQ Wuling Bingo EV officially launches in Malaysia – 2 variants, from RM62,800

TQ Wuling, a joint venture between Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad and SAIC-GM-Wuling, has launched an affordable electric vehicle model, the Bingo EV.

This compact electric hatchback is locally assembled (CKD) and is offered in two main variants: the Bingo Pro priced at RM67,800, and the Bingo Max starting from RM72,800.

In conjunction with the launch, TQ Wuling is also offering a cash rebate of RM5,000.

This means the selling prices after the rebate start from RM62,800 for the Bingo Pro and RM67,800 for the Bingo Max.

Here are some key facts you need to know:

 

1. Dimensions

The Bingo EV measures 3,950 mm in length, 1,706 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,560 mm.

By default, this EV is equipped with 15-inch wheels and 185/60 R15 tires.

The cargo space is 395 liters and can reach a capacity of 1,240 liters with the rear seats folded down.

 

2. Electric Motor & Battery

This electric car is powered by a single front-wheel-drive electric motor that produces 68 PS and 150 Nm of torque.

There are four driving modes available: Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The Pro variant comes with a 31.9 kWh LFP battery that offers a driving range of 333 km, while the Max variant is equipped with a 37.9 kWh battery that can reach a range of 410 km.

 

3. Charging

The Bingo EV offers 7 kW AC charging, allowing the battery to charge from 0 to 100 percent in 4.5 hours (5.5 hours for the Max variant).

Both variants also support 70 kW DC fast charging, with a 30-80 percent state of charge (SoC) achievable in less than 35 minutes.

 

4. Exterior

TQ Wuling provides three two-tone color options: Lavender Purple, Neon Blue, and Milky White, all paired with a black roof.

Exterior features include LED headlights with X-shaped daytime running lights (DRL), LED taillights, rear fog lights, and turn signals integrated into the side mirror housings.

 

5. Interior

Inside the cabin, there’s a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a sound system with four speakers.

Additionally, the driver’s seat features six-way power adjustment and is upholstered in breathable leatherette.

Safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Blind Spot Warning, electronic parking brake with Auto-Hold function, a reverse camera, ISOFIX anchor points, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
