Virtual Sepang 1000KM Castrol (3)

The Sepang 1000KM endurance race held at the Sepang International Circuit on November 28-29 was further enhanced by the organization of the Virtual Sepang 1000km powered by Castrol.

What you need to know about the Virtual Sepang 1000km

1. Ten teams competed for trophies and cash prizes, with RM3,000 for first place, RM2,000 for second place, and RM1,000 for third place.

2. Each team could register three or four drivers, who must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid MAM Esports Competition license. International drivers are required to possess a license issued by an ASN recognized by the FIA, along with approval from MAM.

3. The Virtual Sepang 1000km powered by Castrol featured a seven-hour simulation race format, similar to the 1000 km touring car endurance race.

4. Using the RaceRoom Evo platform, each driver had the opportunity to control a WTCC Honda Civic. To ensure fair competition, all racing vehicles utilized the same settings, with limited assistance, stability control disabled, and full damage mode activated.

5. Each driver must adhere to a maximum time limit of 75 minutes, a rest period of at least 2/3 of the previous stint, and must participate unless exempted by the Stewards.

6. This event is recognized as a national esports competition, featuring participants from across ASEAN. It is officially sanctioned by the Motor Racing Association of Malaysia (MAM) under the FIA International Sporting Code, MAM National Competition Regulations, and the Sporting Regulations for this event.

All aspects of the race are fully monitored according to MAM’s official regulations.

By organizing the Virtual S1K alongside the Sepang 1000KM, Castrol was able to connect participants and fans of simulation racing directly with one of Malaysia’s premier endurance racing events.

Previously, Castrol supported the Unleashed Youth Simracing Championship, which involved over 400 young participants and more than 2,000 students in a structured simulation racing program.

The Virtual S1K race offered the community an opportunity to experience the endurance racing format, paralleling the actual event at the Sepang International Circuit.
