PMX: RON95 price drops to RM1.99 per liter
The price of RON95 petrol will drop to RM1.99 per liter following the implementation of targeted subsidies.
This announcement was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim earlier today, with further details to be revealed by the end of September.
This price reduction is expected to benefit over 18 million Malaysians who drive or ride motorcycles, including gig workers.
The government spends nearly RM20 billion annually on RON95 subsidies in 2023 and 2024.
Although global oil prices have decreased this year, the price of unsubsidized RON95 petrol remains around RM2.50 per liter (RM2.05 per liter after subsidies).

Someone who loves driving manual cars but prefers riding an automatic scooter. Maybe it's an age thing.
